I have said this before and will continue to believe that it will eventually come out that the Celtics were after Winslow to trade to New York.  Porzingis I believe was the target.

That would make sense.

If he becomes the next Harrison Barnes, that would be worth what we reportedly were going to give up. Those 6 picks were likely going to turn into 4 busts, the next Aaron Brooks and the next Maurice Speights.

 ???

I would not give up that package for Harrison Barnes, he's a role player IMO, rather role the dice.

It depends on what kind of player Winslow turns into and where those nets picks fall in the coming years. At first glance, it seems like an awful lot to part with, especially if the Nets picks were unprotected( I thought I read that one of them would have been).

can't fault Danny for trying but 6 picks to move up 7 spots was too much.  especially if any were a Brooklyn pick

I'm sure Danny had solid protections on the Nets pick, so all 4 first rounders would have been mid-late. If not, then yes definately not a good trade.

Gotta say I am loving our picks Rozier and Hunter though, I think while the league is going guard heavy and offensive minded PGs, Danny is building a shutdown defensive backcourt to counter. Can't wait to see them in action!

Yes.

I would trust he thinks that much of Winslow but that's too much for what I think of Winslow.

I am alright with a little "overspending" of picks to trade up (that's what they are there for, to me) but that was a big offer.  But if Ainge liked him that much I would go with it.

Shows you what those assets are worth.

haha you seriously think Kaminsky is more valuable than 4 firsts and 2 seconds?  Jordan is foolish.

Just a flaw in Ainge's plan is relying on other GMs to be reasonable.  But I'd rather do that then rely on ping pong balls.

You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Yes, I would have been a bit upset to be honest.

I am one of the people out there who didn't feel that any of the wings in this draft really had that much star potential - even Russell.  I really felt that there were two guys in this draft with start potential (Towns and Okafor) and that's about it.

I don't think Winslow is going to be nearly as good as many others seem to think he will be. I think if you're lucky you get Ben McLemore - and I wouldn't trade 6 picks (including next year's Nets pick) for McLemore.

I could be wrong, but we'll see.

Ya I would have thought he was ruining our future. Its really the equivalent of a dad gambling his kids college fund on the craps table.

yes as i wouldnt put all my eggs in one basket
i mean what if winslow doesnt become a star
than we pretty much lost a lopsided trade with no bright side to look at it (if it was a straight up 9th pick trade)
