If this guy gets healthy, wow, the league better watch out. We haven't seen a 7'2 player with his skills and mobility ever.

well, to be honest, right now his mobility is not a sure thing, right?
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

A 7'2 guy who has stress fractures, and had to have surgery on foot sounds like a big what if.

Impressive height, but most players that tall generally don't pan out, or get injured way too quickly. But we'll see.. Wow 7'2. And in sandals no less. He could be like 7'3 or 7'3.5-7'4.

The fact that he's still growing actually kind of makes the stress fractures a little less distressing because it means his bones are still in flux.  Makes healing and strengthening seem more likely.

That's just my layman's gut instinct, anyway.

Don't forget back injuries.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

Or he could have that disease where he never stops growing and he will forever be plagued with injuries.

Okay, so that is pessimistic, but you never know when guys start to get into the mid-7s. Hopefully he pans out - I hate when injuries ruin a career.

Embiid will be fine... and all the naysayers will look pretty ridiculous for suggesting that Philly would trade him for Jerry Hozier.

Man, I really hope his injuries are a thing of the past.  It would be a shame to not see what he could become.

Ralph Sampson was 7-4 and extremely mobile. David Robinson was 7-1.

Says LarBrd33, MD on June 30th, 2015. You know hoping a player is fine is a lot different than him being so. Especially when your comments are so confident without anything to support them.

Think he's looking for an honorary MD.

My people tell me Embiid was spotted doing back flips and jumping jacks next to the Liberty Bell last night.

Seriously the more I read about this kid the more I think he'll be fine.   Slim chance of surgery.  I doubt it happens.
