Crowder and Harris yes. Davis no.  We have enough pf

Yes, but are the PF on the roster better than Davis?

That's a big resounding NO!!!!

I read Jordan Hill was let go by the Lakers, any thoughts on him over Davis?

beat me to it.  i'd take hill over davis, but lopez over both.

Now this I'll agree with.

What about both Hill or Lopez AND Davis

It be a nice front court.

Harris will be for 12 million a season

Crowder at 6 million for season

I doubt Davis will be brought over.  Does not even have a mid range jump shot
that didnt stop the  lust-fest surrounding biyombo on cb, why would it deter folks now?  ;D

The love for Biyombo on this site just befuddles me to no end!!

I'd rather give the Davis money to Koufos.

This guy has Kanter going to OKC for 4 yrs/40 million

Man I hope DA offers Kanter a lot more than that.

I'd be thrilled to get him.

And then he also has BOTH Danny Green and Ellis going to Sacramento??

Makes no sense!!

Just Tobias Harris. Crowder can go somewhere else we won't need him, he is a backup / role player. And Ed Davis, well I would rather sign the 22 year old Biz Biyombo and try to give him as many minutes and touches to increase his value and game.

Give me a break.

What is it with everybody and Biyombo?

And I thought a year or two ago, a lot of people were interested in Ed Davis.

Why the sudden change of heart?

Biyombo fever. Biyombo rama lol

Fans want a guy with a 7'6 wingspan, 9'3 reach. Even if it means mediocre iq play on the court.

Biyombo and Ed Davis....

wow guys you are aiming high!

Especially when you consider that the Celtics bigs are better than both of them!

Exactly.  I can't believe people are suggesting otherwise.

$10 million a year?  Pretty sure Harris will get offered the Max.

why wouldn't he? The cap's goin up approx $40 mill over the next two years, yes? This is a tidal shift in the economics of the game.  I'm normally a value guy, but I don't think Danny should be penny-wise this off-season.  I feel the opportunity cost is high right now, but it's gonna be much higher, and securing a good FA talent, however unlikely, should be done at all costs.

It's likely more teams will spend into the tax this year, knowing they have a salary cap bump next year to assist in avoiding the repeater tax.

The love for Biyombo on this site just befuddles me to no end!!

Because:

a) We need rebounding and rim protection
b) He rebounds
c) He protects the rim
d) He's young with a chance of upside
e) He could potentially be had on an economical deal

Nobody things that this guy is going to be a star, or that we should build our team around him, or that we should offer him the max.

We just think that if we bust out on the big name free agents, and there's a chance to get Biyombo on a short term cap friendly deal (say, $4m - $5m a year for two years) then he's worth taking a chance on given that he can fill some key needs and (as a bonus) has some upside.

Right now our backup center is...nobody.  Bass, Sully and Olynyk are all Power Forwards playing out of position at center.  We NEED a backup center, and I'd be perfectly happy giving Biyombo a shot given that he is a great complement to any of Sully, Bass and Olynyk (depending on which is our backup PF).

Of course if we can get a star center (like Monroe) then we bring Zeller off the bench as out backup, and there's no need to go after a guy like Biyombo.  But based on past history free agency is completely unpredictable, so if none of those guys have an interest in coming here, you still want to add guys who can improve your team and fill needs.

People are saying they'd rather have Harris, but you're talking about a $10m - $15m long term contract there. I'm talking about a short term low cost trial contract.  It's apples and oranges.

Just because the cap is going up, doesn't mean money should just get thrown around recklessly.   A max contract for Tobias Harris would be  about $67m over four years.  Even with the rising cap that's a VERY big commitment and a VERY large expenditure for a guy who is (right now) an 'good starter' at best.

His production right now is a small step above Jeff Green/Avery Bradley level.  Not evne a full step above - about a half step above.  Those guys were both given contacts around $7m-$9m a year.  Fair value for Harris is about $11M max - $12M at a REAL stretch.

Overspending a bit is fine, but overspending by $5m - $6m a year is a lot...

Is crowder really worth 7 Mill per year?  That seems like the kinda deal that gets you in trouble.
A backup SF for 7 mil per year?... crazy

Considering Danny Green just got 11m and Demarre Carroll $15; I don't think it's a stretch for Jae to get 7.     Bargain actually, considering how scarce these 3D swings are...

Plus Khris Middleton just got 14 mil a year.
