He was getting like 13 assist per game here for the 1st part of last year. Imagine if he had LBJ to pass to. RR needs to rehab his image. 1 year small money, win a ring, shoot as most improved player, big time playoff games guaranteed, get to play with your best man (Perk)... Why is no one saying Rondo to Cle?

Also the caps goes up, so he could get more next summer so that losing some now would't matter. If the alternative is the Kings, why not just go to CLE?

He'd be a horrible fit with LeBron, and he can't play off Kyrie.  You couldn't have Rondo, Thompson, and Mozgov on the floor at the same time.

Don't see it at all.

Rondo's best case scenario would be to find a middle of the road team that is willing to give him a chance at winning the starting point guard spot and just let him have complete control of the offense and put up double doubles every night again.  Not sure there's a team in the league that would do that, however.

Sacramento's probably the most likely.  Maybe he can go to Minnesota and compete with Rubio.

Gross. Good reasons listed why above.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Because I'm pretty sure when push comes to shove, Rondo doesn't want to be a back-up who wouldn't get much time.

I don't think Cleveland would want him anyway. They already have their sights set on re-signing their own guys that got them to the finals. Lebron, Love, Thompson, Smith, and Shumpert are probably their primary priorities before looking at Rondo.

Minnesota actually makes a lot of sense when I think about it.

Between him and Rubio, you get 48 minutes of more or less the same style of play from your point guard, so you can maintain consistency with how you run your offense.

Rondo gets to play with KG again, which might alleviate concerns about his attitude since KG knows him and can reign him in.

Would be a lot of fun to see Rondo setting up Shabazz, Lavine, Wiggins, Towns, and Dieng.  Not to mention Kevin Martin, KG, and Pekovic on the bench.  Rondo might even make Bennett look good enough to get value in a trade.

Knowing Rubio's injury history, he will play like 10 games next season. Trade him for picks, and sign Rondo. I've been thinking for a while now that Rondo on the T-Wolves would be great.

I wouldn't want Rondo's apparent attitude around Towns, LaVine, or Wiggins. I'm not giving them much credit as to suggest that Rondo's attitude would affect their play but still, this is coming from someone who also thought Minny would be an interesting Rondo destination.

Stranger things have happened but at this point I'd rather go with Rubio and Tyus Jones than Rondo. Prove me wrong, Rondo, prove me wrong.
Long-form is far from dead, but please refrain from paragraph-laden posts! Who wants to read that?!

Rondo on the Wolves with KG would provide us an interesting glimpse at "What if the Celts had kept KG and Rondo, drafted Dieng instead of Olynyk in 2013, tanked the last two years, and ended up with Wiggins and Towns in successive drafts?"

If you are talking about small money 1 year deals, then the Nets make a lot of sense.  He would be a pretty solid player in the guard rotation of Williams, Johnson, Rondo as he can play with either Williams or Johnson.

That said, I think he ends up with the Lakers or Knicks (if they keep Melo).
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards -

Until David Kahn takes the whole team hostage and disappears to the Balkans or something.

As long as the Nets still have Deron, Joe, Blake, and Jack, kind of hard to see room for another ball-handler, especially one as demanding of having control as Rondo.

I don't think that there is a +.500 team in the NBA that wants anything to do with Rondo.
Cavs, OMG, behind Kyre, Lebron and possibly Love, what role would he have, 15 MPG tops?

I don't think Rondo would go to a team with Rubio on it.  Rondo sees himself as starting point guard who plays big minutes.  I also agree that Cleveland is a horrible fit because Rondo can't shoot and both he and Lebron need the ball.

I could see the Nets as a good fit since Williams already was reduced to coming off the bench at times last year and may be better suited to shooting guard at this point.
