No chance in hell Philly accepts this. No one would in their place.
When I saw the OP bumped this thread I wondered who would be the first to jump in here without reading, it's a thread from 2015
oops that explains things, thanks for that.

I did do some reading though. I never leave a LarBrd33 comment unread- even gave him a TP. Now, it's two TPs, making perfect sense two years after the event is not easy.

Edit: to be clear I am talking of post nr2, not nr3.

TP  Almost sucked me in...lol.  Really think Danny needs to alter his long term thinking to account for having to deal with this guy for the next decade - assuming he stays healthy.  Take a listen to the Woj podcast with Jeff Van Gundy where JVG changes his mind on who should start for the East in the All Star Game when he learns of the Sixers +/- with and without Embid on the court.

Eh, the prediction of the '16 pick being in the 12-17 range should have canceled out the tp (and I am a huge LB fan). Besides, the talent level of Enbiid was never questioned, just his health. While that looks like an issue left in the past, it's still a wait and see game just to be sure.

@jambr380

Thanks for the reply. Good points.

Still IMO back then not only our pick but Embiid too had less value. Not only because of health concerns, but because even in the best scenario his team would have to wait a lot for him to start playing.

That's why I still think LarBrd33 is worthy of the TPs. I like the guy but not his posts, that's why when he posts something I like, the right thing on my part is to give credit.

Naah the Sixers aren't going to be good for at least another 5 years, if they ever even become playoff contenders.

DA needs to think about improving his team, not about a guy who might turn out great who is on one of the worst 4 teams in the NBA today.

Nice thread necro.  Why?

Sidenote: Embiid looks good his rookie season but so did Okafor.  And Okafor regressed a lot in season 2.  Embiid is also currently injured and will miss at least another 2-4 games.

No chance in hell Philly accepts this. No one would in their place.

Embiid has been exponentially better than Okafor was.

If he stays healthy and Simmons is even half what he's supposed to be, Philly will make the playoffs next year.

LOL, I will bet you 10 Tommy Points right now that the Sixers are NOT making the playoffs next year!  Wanna take me on that offer?  IF you lose you send me 10 Tommy points, If I lose I'll send you the Tommy points.

If Simmons is a consensus top 3 sophomore and Embiid plays 67 games then yes. I bet they make the playoffs.

If you agree with those two terms, lets do it.
