He should go to Milwaukee.  That'd be a really interesting team with him down low.  Mcw, Middleton, Parker, Giannis, Monroe.  Nice core 5.

They've got the kind of promising young players that the Celtics can't offer (Parker and Giannis in particular).

Do the Lakers have enough cap space to sign L.Aldridge and G.Monroe? (edit: Nope, they don't)

PG: D'Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson
SG: Kobe Bryant
SF:
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge, Julius Randle
 C: Greg Monroe

That would be a pretty attractive offer as a package deal ... if it's financially possible

Update: Kobe has $25mil. Young $5mil. Russell $5mil. Randle and R.Kelly combined is $5mil. That is $40 million. Another four guys on just less than a $1 million apiece. So roughly $44 million plus cap holds for empty roster spots. That is $45.5 million. $67 million cap.

Nope, not enough cap space for both.

That is good news. I don't think the Lakers are a good place for Monroe so.

“(He and agent David Falk) are definitely looking at all our options,” he said. “You can see the trend is everybody’s taking shorter deals right now. So, most likely, I might take that route, too, and when the new deal kicks in, get a longer-term contract.

“I’m looking at a two-year deal plus an option” to become a free agent.

So I think the thing we have most in our favor (other than offering max), is that we run a spaced system with 4 on the perimeter at most times, this would make it easier for Monroe to score.

I hope we can land him, because I'm not really optimistic about anyone else (unless the Magic don't match on Harris)
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Nah he should come to Boston, they may not be as talented but he he could really thrive under Brad.

Greg Monroe to meet with Lakers in free agency.

http://www.lakersnation.com/lakers-news-greg-monroe-to-meet-with-los-angeles-in-free-agency/2015/06/28/

We know that, he's also meeting Boston too you know.
its just news appropriate to the thread.

It will be interesting how Stevens does in a FA pitch, at least I'm hoping he's part of it. I think out of all the coach's from these teams Stevens may be the best "pitch" guy for a young player.

I think Mil and Portland are the longs shots, LA and NY have horrible organizations right now, but if it's more about location then Basketball they are top choices. But if it's about raising his value, for the longer contract after the CBA jump, Boston has a good shot at making that happen.

If Monroe (or Deandre Jordan) went to the Bucks, would that kill any argument that a major free agent won't go to Boston?  How could someone have Milwaukee higher if location and weather are all that matters?

Five teams have shown serious interest — the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers. Monroe said he’ll meet with those teams this week.

My guess it be between Boston and New York...plus hearing David West may end up in New York
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

David West and Greg Monroe front court can be pretty devastating!

Rejoice Celtic fans...for once we hear that we dont think anything will happen in our quest.
Which naturally means we will ink somebody within 2-3 days.

Wouldnt be a bad thing to say just to settle down those with pitchforks...

I would like Monroe on our team
But NY seems like a good fit for him if porzingis pans out as a good player
