People are too trade happy.  We have a very good team. Had a strong draft.  We have cap space.  Even if we end up striking out which I don't think we will, we have a strong team where trades don't have to be made.

Babb, Bass, Gigi, and Wallace should be gone.

PG-Smart
SG-Bradley
SF-Crowder
PF-Sully
C-Zeller

B-Isiaiah
B-Rozier
B-KO
B-Hunter
B-Young
B-Mickey
B-Jerebko

That's 12 lpayers.  Pressey, Thornton, Y oung, Hunter and Mickey are all d-league eligilble. Even Rozier at times. That's a strong team imo where moves don't "have to" be made.  We probably will make some adjustments but yeah.

Eh.

I would rather do this than overspend on a FA.

I also think that Sully and Wallace will be much more valuable trade pieces by midseason.

Im sure we will role the dice on a few Evan Turner types, but this isnt the worst possible outcome.

Fans are fans. I don't get it sometimes why people are so trade happy and negative.  I forgot about Turner but the point is the same. We have a strong team that is guard heavy but so what.

I really like our team and would really push to stand pat and just make smart moves. Don't listen Danny to people.

I also love our draft and think dA is so smart.  Just keep Smart.

I think a thing with Danny is that he never likes to lose trades. Or signings for that matter. That being said, this core, to me, does not look like a championship core. If Ainge can bring in a big time player, he should do it. That being said, we can rest easy (I think) knowing Ainge isnt going to break the bank on an asset that doesnt move the needle. If we cant get any of Love, Aldridge, Favors, Gasol, Monroe, Harris, Middleton, Matthews, Philly big etc on good contracts/trade values I dont think DA will overpay for them and we will probably do minor things.

Sign Thomas Robinson types, maybe Bismack Biyombo or Robin Lopez could be pursued. Maybe we kick the tires on a Taj Gibson, Joakim Noah, or Roy Hibbert trade.

I agree. I think we are going to get Kevin Love and Pierce and would hold out for that because that's really all this team is missing.  It  depends though. But would be nice. Tobias Harris is intriguing but not sure i'd waste money on him. Hold out for Love first.

We put Kevin Love on this team we are suddenly GS of the east imo.

No.

We roll with what we have, because that is what we have. Is it ANY way shape or form the roster Ainge had in mind coming to the draft? Heck no!

These are all great hustling role players who can work their butt off, but I would gladly trade anyone on this roster for a superstar. No one here has the potential to be a star, and I'm hard pressed to say Smart could be one.

Yes hes a defensive savant, and while I'm a huge fan of him, even I understand his ability to generate offense leaves me no room to be so optimistic. Yes, he was injured, but he doesn't seem to have the characteristics of a offensive go to scorer.

All I'm hoping is drafting Rozier would lead us to trade Smart,  :-\ :'( for a superstar that is disgruntled, namely Cousins.

And why do you think Love would make us anywhere close to Golden State? We still need a back court that can defend and spread the floor, and wings that can switch on defense. I would say Crowder, and Smart are the only ones that can.

Points taken.  We get kevin love is means we are still without a rim protector and are more than likely trading sully.  Cousins would be better but we have to trade for him.  Both have issues.  Love we dont have to give up the farm for.  Cousins we do.

I'm happy with our team regardless. I think we are going to surprise peopel again this year.  We surprised last year by making hte playoffs. I think right now we are a better team.  y ounger but better.

The goal ultimately is to improve.  By subtracting Babb, Gigi, Bass and whoever else and adding the 4 rookies we drafted that's a step.  We still have free agency and trades coming up.  I feel like this team can make some noise this year regardless.

Fans want fireworks where they might have to step back their expectations a bit, but I don't know.

Oh, I definitely agree we're going to be better next year. There is no way this is the roster in the opening day, most likely see some guards traded for a big man.

I think with Love, we're a top 4-5 seed in the East, and we're definitely going to most likely make it to the second round.

Brad Stevens would certainly get the best from him.

If we got Cousins and Love, plus Pierce, I think we would be the best team in the East, and hopefully the West.

One of my biggest pipe dreams at this point, but I'm praying we at least get one of them.

What is your realistic expectations about the Celtics wins/losses record next year? And who do you think would be our most improved player?

We were 24-12 our last 36 games.
I'm fine with what we have, unless we can get one of the top free agents.
No need to overpay for mediocre talent.

No, I don't want to roll with what we have.

We saw what kind of team we had last year and we got embarrassed by the Cavs.

Please feel free to higher your expectations a little bit

Personally, I want free agent signings and trades to improve the team.

If a team who's ceiling is 35 wins (that was lucky to get 40 wins last year)is everyone' best case scenario, then enjoy but I will not bother to watch.

How do you figure Sully and Wallace will be more valuable by the trade deadline. It's usually around the trade deadline when Sully's ass turns into the size of a washing machine.

And yes, keeping this team would be the worse possible outcome because it's not a very good team.

How many wins do you think our "very good, strong" team will muster this year?

Do you think they will win more or less than last season?

I think they will win less, with their present roster -- another wasted year, essentially, since we're not good enough to seriously compete in the playoffs and we're not bad enough to get valuable picks.

The problem is we have a good regular season team, but not one that can succeed in the playoffs.  Like most here, I'm not content making the playoffs multiple years in a row simply to get knocked out in the first round.

I like our team.  I really enjoyed watching them play last year.  But I strongly disagree with "rolling with what we have".  The top priority is to obtain a star.  A two-way player who can shoulder the load in the playoffs.  Someone we can actually build around.  It will be easier to put things into place once this happens.
