He is putting pressure on the Cavs management to do what he wants and see what they do before signing on the dotted line. Surprise, Surprise. I bet he has asked for the coach to be fired and to replace with Love with someone that fits his program of doing what he wants, when he wants.

Imagine if the Cavs blew it though and he bolted. I can only imagine where he would end up.

Did you not read the article?  Says he isn't meddling in the front office and isn't forcing a coaching change.  Just wants to keep pressure on so the Cavs do the right thing, since they basically wasted his first stint there, I can't blame him at all.

He is not leaving Cleveland, just applying some pressure.  He will probably continually sign 2 year contracts with an opt out after one, so he can keep applying that pressure.

I think we might see Wade go to Cleveland, actually.

This doesn't make any sense, really. How is a "do what I think is right, or else" stance not meddling in the front office affairs?

There's a part of this that is important to understand. If he plans to stay with the Cavs anyways, he can take his time because that's beneficial to how the Cavs can play during free-agency.

Now the important part is getting that handshake agreement without making it official...

So I guess you just went for the headline and didnt bother reading the article. Cant let 1-2 minutes of reading get in the way of an opportunity to Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. about Lebron eh?

Doing what is right is ensuring Cavs re-sign all their FAs and RFAs hence keep their core to compete for yrs to come.

Lebron sacrificed money in Miami only for Arison to cheapen out on paying the tax with MM. I doubt Dan G cheapens out but  smarter for Lebron to keep his leverage to guarantee that doesnt happen. Simple business practice really

This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone after the contract was signed last year.  Not only can it give LeBron leverage in team affairs, but when he resigns it'll be for a higher number with the cap going up.  That's kind of the point of a superstar signing such an unusually short deal.

Spoiler for June 2016 - he's going to opt out again so he can sign a deal at the new higher max when the cap explodes.

Yeah, this exact game plan was detailed as soon as he opted out of his Heat contract. His camp made it clear that, no matter who he signed with, he was planning on inking two year max deals with player options for the second year so that he could just opt out every season.
