According to Chris Forsberg:

Rozier is a hard sell to a fan base that got swept up in Ainge's pre-draft pledge to try to move up. He's a perceived reach. Sources indicated the Celtics debated the idea of moving down from 16, but feared that Rozier could be swooped up as early as No. 18 by the Houston Rockets (and there were teams intrigued in the 20s, including Rozier's hometown Cavaliers). The speedy guard will have the increased burden of expectations based on his draft slot, but Ainge raved about Rozier's mental and physical toughness.

Cleveland's interest is believable, since teams that trade down as they did with Minnesota are often teams that lost interest when their primary target gets taken by someone else.

I've also read the Bulls at #22 and the Spurs at #26 as teams with an interest in Rozier.

7 PGs went by pick 24. Rozier was rated 6th best PG by Hoopshype.

Danny might be right about the kid being good... but I don't understand why he didn't trade down.  Maybe he was like, "Well I don't have room for all of these players anyways... so whatev... this draft is a crap shoot... might as well just take the crap I like"

In one of the threads last night I was like, "Couldn't you have traded down with Houston for #18 and #32 or something?  I don't get it"... but if Houston had interest in Hozier too, I guess this makes sense.

Wait, Ainge had reasons for not trading up or down? He offered 6 picks for #9 and got rejected, instead of just "not trying?" He feared Rozier would be taken and didn't just decide to not trade down?

Shocking!

But couldn't they have traded down with Houston for #18 and #32 or something?  I don't get it.

He said that he was afraid Houston was interested in Rozier.

Wow! You guys are amazing. Who cares if would be available at #28, this is the guy Danny he wanted and we are in to position to argue with him. He's a great GM.

That's fine and all but just because he wouldn't have been available at 28 doesn't mean he was the right pick at 16. I hope he's really good because it looks like a terrible pick right now

First off who cares? I wouldn't have been happy no matter where they picked him, I just don't like the pick at the moment.

On top of that I'm so sick of hearing about players mental and physical toughness this aint the UFC, I want someone that can play and has skills whom will help the team win. ::)

Bulls were really interested at 22. All over the mocks. Cavs, and rockets being interested sounds believable

I care if it proves that the people who said he could have been taken at #28 are fools with confirmation bias who cling to a specific mock draft that supports their contention without looking at all the evidence.  This is the internet.  We don't tolerate people who are wrong on the internet.

Mental faculties matter.  I like taking a guy like Rozier more than taking a guy with a DeAndre Jordan body and a Fab Melo brain.

Well FYI one of his weaknesses is said to be LOW BBIQ.

The C's took Rozier too high at #16 and got a steal with Hunter #28.  Switch them around in your head if he helps you to come to grips with it.  Cripes.

Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.
