All indications are that Aldridge is going to Texas or LA or NY. I have never read anywhere that he has any interest in Boston. Why would he?

Gasol is a guarantee to re-sign with Memphis as they are much closer to a championship than any of the other suitors.

Who wants to come build with 19 guards and a few undersized forwards?

Let's face it - NOBODY of any value wants to come here. We may get a rebound free agent that loses out on big money elsewhere. Milsap? Really? Who wants him? When he looked at LeBron he decided to hide under the bench for the series. He's just another undersized forward of which we already have a few.

Who's left ?

No way LMA is coming here. My guess is LAL or DAL for him. Why would Gasol come here? He was just in the WC Semis. Butler will be matched. Love headed back to Cleveland.

We may have a shot at Monroe, but my guess is once he gets in a room with Phil Jackson and Melo and spends a few nights in NY, it won't be much of a decision for him.

Our best hope is that we don't overpay too badly for Koufas or Milsap..

Expecting the Celts to sign a near-30 free agent looking for an opportunity to contend over the remainder of his prime years seems unreasonable to me.  This team is not one All-Star away from making it past the first round.

The Celts should be looking at mid-20s guys who are looking for a fresh start and an opportunity to prove they can thrive in a larger or more consistent role.  Greg Monroe is the name at the top of the list for me.

How many all stars do you need then? We already have one

Jordan Mickey?

No. Thomas

When was he an All-Star?

With this roster? I doubt it.

There needs to be some other trades to be made first. If Danny can somehow bring a starter level player, especially a wing guy, it could help. But these guys are looming to contend, they are not getting that in Boston unless Danny can shake up the roster and add quality players.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.

SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal

PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons

I would offer the max to:

Kawhi Leonard
Marc Gasol
Aldridge
Love
Butler

If none bite, I would go after:
Deandre Jordan
Greg Monroe
Tristan Thompson
Milsap
Wesley Mathews

I would do everything to try to sign:
Jae Crowder
Tyson Chandler
Paul Pierce
Omer Asik

Worse case, hoping to at least bring in Millsap.

There is no conceivable way that is going to happen. I still can't believe Ainge passed on Dekker, Justin Anderson. And Hollis Jefferson. The draft was a bust. We now will have to trade Marcus Smart to get anything back in FA. I guess we have to wait on the NJN picks to come to fruition.

My fear is that CBS will get frustrated and go back to college when Indiana, UNC or Duke opens in the next couple of years .

Saw Dekkers face when Celts had 2-3 min to make a choice. His facial reaction was like "freak i should of not cancelled the Celtics workout"

Danny does not pick guys that dont come to workout . Julius Randle cancelled the 2nd one , which made the Celts choice of picking Smart an easier one.

RHJ and Anderson (i like both) but both guys are more like athletes masked as basketball players. They dont have much of a handle. Cant score pts or create out of thin air when your team is "stuck". This is where you will be glad he chose Rozier

Hunter didn't work out for us and we picked him.

No chance whatsoever at Gasol and very slim one with LA.  I think the best bigs we have a chance at are Monroe, Koufos, maybe Love, Asik and R. Lopez.  Other than that potential trades for Hibbert and maybe Noel (if Smart is included). There maybe more but these are off the top of my head...

Because they lack his full Bird rights, the Hawks may be unable to match a max offer for Millsap.  I think Millsap will go to a team that gives him a four-year max.  I think the Celtics should be willing to do that.  I think Millsap is the sort of player who might prefer Boston if he got similar offers from the Lakers and Knicks.

I repeat - who wants Milsap? He won't help us in the least. Did you see him playing for Atlanta vs. Cleveland. He hid under the bench looking at photos of LeBron.

Why would Aldridge or Gasol or Love want to come here? We should focus on the restricted free agents
