The only people on our team that can now correctly initiate his offense are Turner, Thomas and Rozier.

Rozier is super fast with the ball, something Bradley and Smart are not.

Rozier can finish at the rim, something Bradley and Smart can't do.

Rozier can dribble into the paint and has very good handles, something Bradley and Smart can't do and do not have.

All of these skills are needed for Brad's offense.  We rely on Thomas and Turner for this now but it's not enough, getting another player with these skills is very very important.

Brad loves this pick without a doubt, it's perfect for the style of play he wants to bring to the Celtics.

Another reason why Turner is gone.

Should turn him, KO/Sully, and a 2016 1st into somebody. Add Wallace to make money work.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Because he has to. You really expect him to go out and crap on it? It's not good for his relationship with the player, it's not good for his relationship with the front office, and frankly there isn't much that's good about such a stance anyway.

He'll have to work with what he's got, so he'll try to find the positives about it.

Part of the ritual for today is to talk ourselves into these new players, and there's a lot to like about Rozier. He's a low percentage finisher, though. That is generally seen as a weakness of his, not a strength.

Of course he does, but that has nothing to do with the points that the OP brought up about how he will fit into Coach Steven's offense.  Those are valid strengths that Rozier can bring to the team.

Is it possible Rozier is a better version of Avery Bradley? A good defender who can play the point? As I convince myself that these picks could turn into something special, I'm envisioning a backcourt of Smart and Rosier doing Frazier/Monroe stuff sharing playmaking duties, attacking the rim and kicking out. Bradley just can't create offense in the NBA.

Of course, that would require Smart figuring out where the rim is and going there but I confident it can be done.

now that you mentioned it, say Rozier is Bradley but plays better at the point, move Smart to SG...does that make Bradley expendable?

Bradley was expendable before that. At the right cost of course.
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

Someone has to be expendable. I can see DA taking RJ Hunter at 28, that was a good pick. If Young can be a 3 at some point, Hunter deserves at shot at 2 guard. The Celtics could have a solid outside shooting team in the near future.

What bothers me about Rosier, he's described as a combo guard! No matter how talented he is, he's not thought of as a pure PG. He is kind of a cross between Bradley and IT. Can he grow into a pure point? Seldom do I see that really happen.

Mickey at #33 is only 6-8, my question is, why not Christmas at 6-10? Similar game, 2" taller.

Judging from DAs comments, I doubt Stevens loves this pick. Danny said CBS thinks he's crazy sometimes. Stevens towed the company line. No way he was happy with another 6'2 guy that's not a great jump shooter.

Decker or Portis should have been the pick. I would have even been happy with Hollis-Jefferson at 16. This was a reach pick. It's a signal that we will have to trade IT or Marcus Smart in the off season.

Biggest letdown of the Ainge Era was last night when this pick was announced.

100%
Has To??
don’t you think he had a say in who do we pick, and there for it would make sense he picked someone he loves?

I made this post without even reading or hearing anything Stevens has actually said about this. Terry just looks like a good fit and brings skills we lack.

I'm sure he had a say, which doesn't mean this was necessarily his preference. But do you really expect him to pop up and say, "I really hate how we didn't draft Bobby Portis at 16"?
