Bucks have too many elite small forwards.  Philly has too many elite bigs. If bucks want a franchise center they should move giannis or Parker for embiid or Okafor.  Both teams win.

Hinkie holds all the cards.  Split the 96 minutes at PF/C evenly between the three. 32 minutes each... Then force the league to get into an all-out bidding war.  They own like 3 of the 5 or 6 best big man prospects in the league (the others being Davis, towns and maybe Drummond... Maybe gobert... Though I think all three Philly bigs will be better than Drummond and gobert).  Who wants a franchise big?  Everyone. They should be able to trade one for an allstar at a different position.

Sooooo jealous of philly fans.

Although Embiid may never amount to anything in the NBA.  History of NBA bigs that missed 1-2 seasons with foot injuries is not good at all.

Yeah, great ::)

You do realize that Noel is about to enter the third year of his contract right? Will he stay, if the Sixers haven't developed into a good team by the end of his fourth year?

You do realize that Embid is about to sit the second season of his contract right? This means he is not developing, and his third contract year could be his rookie season. Will he be good enough to make the team better, to make Noel stay?

And do you think other GM's will give all star players for Embiid? Who already has big question marks hanging around him.

If Hinkie won't turn them into a winning team soon, than their "stars" will turn their backs on him as soon as they can.

This is sort of how I feel. Hinkie is committed to flipping players to get better: I don't think they hold on to their three bigs -- if only because they're going to have a hard time paying all of them.

They also have Dario Saric who will probably be a stretch four.

Hopefully the Nets pick next year is a top 5 pick. If there are only solid guards left, I can see us trading the pick for Noel.

Doubt Philly trades Okafor. And no one will want Embiid unless its a bargain trade.

I don't think any or all of them will lead the Sixers to a title.

Doesn't Atlanta have the right to swap positions with that pick?

Yep.

This is the kind of positional redundancy that is not such a problem.

Load up on talent at the position of greatest scarcity.

Embiid probably will only play 20-24 minutes a night at most for his first year or two in the league, anyway.  Okafor and Noel are not an ideal match, but they can play together.

Philly will get a sizable haul for two out of those three guys, and they'll continue to collect high level draft assets because they're going to stink again next year.

Who knows how Hinkie will eventually craft his collection of players and picks into a competitive team, but he's got the raw materials there.  Hinkie has a block of marble to sculpt, Danny Ainge has a pile of bricks, cinder blocks, and rough stone.

There's a lot more that goes into building a great team than just having the right materials on hand.  But you can't even start without them.

Nope just 2014 and 2015. These next three years, the Nets' picks are all ours.

The Celtics get the Nets picks for the next three years.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I know this has been said many times before, but a Smart for Noel/Embiid/Olafor makes way too much sense for both teams. If it requires an extra pick, then so be it.

I do agree with LarBrd that a subsequent trade with Milwaukee also makes sense. If it plays out this way, Philly, Mil, and Boston would all be really solid moving forward.
