This made me more disappointed in Danny last night.

We had the 45 and could have used it to gamble on Upshaw, but instead we picked another PG!?

Yeah, I wanted a crack at Upshaw. Maybe we're trying to be too goody two shoes with Brad around here, but I thought it should've been worth a risk.

Oh well, maybe the red flags are more serious than we know.

Not sure if this is reputable source but I was hoping we hoping we could have gotten first look at him this summer.

Confirmed...

This doesn't mean he'll be a Laker, however. Players often play for different teams during the summer. Until he signs a contract he's still a FA.

The signs were all there that he would go undrafted. Still don't understand the love for this guy, especially given he posted stats against bad teams, he got tossed from two different programs, he had an interview but no try outs, he has health issues and he has drug addiction issues that probably go beyond just pot.

Be realistic people. He is probably destined for Europe or China.

Oh come off it.  You swore that he wouldn't be there at 28.  Why won't you just admit that every team in the NBA knows more about his situation, and their ability to help his situation, than you do?

I hear they've got good opiates in China.  It might work out for him.

I think my disappointment is more to do with my desire for us to get a true center that can block shots and has development potential. None of us know what the exact red flags are but they were enough to have him fall out of the draft. At 45 though, I figured it is worth a 1 in a hundred shot at it working out.

I hope Upshaw gets his personal demons/health in order and is able to live a healthy life.

How can people joke about Upshaw's possible drug addiction? Scumbags. Anyways we should have taken him 45

Yoki you probably should admit you were wrong on Upshaw. I rarely advocate people doing so on the forums cause in the end it doesn't mean anything. However, your perception of him was about as far off as anything I can remember seeing. You insisted he should be taken at 16 cause he wouldn't last to 28 even after I provided you with 6 mock drafts. He went undrafted your assessment was over the top and a bit inaccurate. Will be interested to see him in summer league.

I'd still take a chance on upshaw over taking Marcus Thornton.

I mean Thornton has. No chance of making this team as is with our two first round picks, IT, smart, AB, and young. What are we gonna carry 7 guards?

There is no room on the roster for the 45th pick, whomever it was.
