I laughed when I read and heard some comparisons to Dwayne Wade. Same thing that I heard about Smart Last year. I will say this though if you can watch half of this highlight and you don't see a little Mini Me Dwade than let me know here. He's three inches shorter but wingspan pretty close. Rozier beats him in the Vertical jump 38" to 35" for Wade.
A stretch to say he's gonna be Wade, but at least say you see a little  Wade .5

I thought about Wade too when I saw his highlights. This guy can attack the rim, and his jump shot mechanics look pretty good.

That said, I'd be more excited with Rozier if he isn't redundant for our roster. We already have Smart. Why do we need a smaller version of him, with almost the same skill set? It just doesn't make sense.

This kid is an unreal athlete although small. We need a quicker point guard not named Thomas this kid can defend with his 6'8" wingspan and crazy athleticism.

That highlight made me feel better.

I feel like outside of PF's and C's, college player highlights are 90% contested 3 pointers and break away dunks. I like the basket attacking here though.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I have no problems with this guy but we need to move somebody before the season starts we have too many shooting guards with point guard bodies  :(

Rozier reminds me of Reggie Jackson.  Not quite as big, maybe a bit more athletic.

I'd be pretty pleased if he turned into a player like that, but it's still not clear how he's going to get enough playing time anytime soon to develop in that way.

Plus, Rozier is already 21.  So we better hope he comes in and looks pretty good right away, because what you see is probably more or less what you get.

He pretty much destroyed my college team (prominent in the first video).

We know he is athletic.  What stands out to me is that although they say he is an inconsistent shooter, I see good mechanics (and a nice high release).  So I would expect that aspect of his game to get more and more consistent.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I still think he's a massive reach at #16 and I can't be excited with this pick until we clear the logjam with the guards.

But I gotta admit, watching him attack the rim, he's pretty good at it.

I see him as a Tony Allen at the 1/2 spot rather than the 2/3 (and therefore while as versatile, probably not as defensively valuable) who has the potential to be a far superior offensive player. That's pretty good for 16.

The player comps I have now seen:
Bledsoe
Wade
Westbrook
R. Jackson

Wade and Westbrook were really lofty, but as far as play style I think pretty accurate.

The ones that have caught my eye are Bledsoe and Jackson.

We also know Ainge has pursued both these players. Id love it if rozier can reach their level.

Did anyone else notice how Chad Ford listed Rozier's comp as "A young Marcus Smart?"

http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draft/rounds

For the record, Marcus smart is exactly eleven days older than Terry Rozier.

There it is. Marcus Banks two-point-oh is the new comparing white guys to Larry Bird.
