Tonight is proof positive that making the playoffs and getting swept was are horrible strategic blunder on the part of the Celtics. The draft was 10 to 11 players deep and we missed out. I fear the Celtics are looking at NBA purgatory, 40 to 50 wins and no title chances, for years. I have doubts the Celtics will get the kind of top flight free agents they need as they are simply not close enough to contention. Along with the weather, taxes, lack of nightlife and poor secondary market for earnings that are often brought up when discussing Boston as a FA destination. Overall in the end I am confused by tonight's draft but really my frustration begins with the poor decision to go for the playoffs when long term it will hurt the Celtics.

On a positive side DA drafted all Guards that wont really help at all this year. Once all C's FAs are also let go it should be impossible for BS to win more than 25 games.

AB/Hunter/Thornton
Turner/Young/Wallace
Sully/Mikey

I thought Ainge made it pretty clear that making the playoffs last year was not a hoped for thing.  The East was just that bad a conference.

Then he should have never hired Brad Stevens or traded for Isaiah Thomas then.

This actually makes no sense.

Come on, now.

1.) You have to have a coach

2.) Waiting on Thomas until the end of the year might have meant missing out on Thomas

Horrible looking draft to be honest.  Reminds me of the 2011 draft.  We screwed that one up big time and it set us back for years.  Let's hope this isn't as bad as it looks.  But it's pretty bleak right now.  I would have given up all 4 of our picks for the right to take justice Winslow.

Considering how much of an impact both of them had on their playoff run, then Danny should never have taken them.

Then get M.L carr then, Isaiah is a good player you shouldn't grab him if you don't want to win.

Agreed! If I see LMA Love Monroe on this team I'm going to vomit. That's the wrong way to build a title team. Besides I'm confident that no free agents will come so it's all good. The 2016 motto should be Welcome to Tank City. Run a proper tank this time just like Philadelphia for a year and this organization will be a lot better off. If Brad isn't on board for that, well then there is the door. I'd also send IT out for a future draft pick and cut my losses same with Smart Sully and Olynyk.

Great title, awful post.

Trite, recycled whinge.

Agreed our tanking prospects look OK though. I think we have the worst roster in the NBA now though.

Some perspective from an inyernational fan who has zero idea how good or bad any of our picks are at basketball.

Lots of chatter on here put a very high premium on trading up and grabbing one of a partcular group of prospects. It didn't happen and that is disappointing.

Having said draft night is only the beginning, once free agency starts a whole bunch of these players will be back in play, and trader Danny being the trade wizard he is, we could yett win the war.

some of you are so depressing.
On a positive note :
- A better Rose might be a Rozier.
- Take a look at our backcourt all together

Not funny? oh well...
