Chad Ford toying with my emotions right now saying Cauley-Stein dropping to Mavs at 21. He also had Pavel and Lampe in the Top 5 in 05.

There are always free falls in drafts and, from what I'm hearing, Willie Cauley-Stein and Kevon Looney could be the ones tonight.

The NBA Draft is tonight, but it might not be kind to Willie Cauley-Stein, who is projected to slide if he makes it past No. 4 overall.

While the NBA Draft is going to be a happy night for most players this year, there are some talents who might slip and have a rough start to their NBA careers.

Tonight is all about the future, but it’s hard to have a bright future when no one seemingly wants you. That’s the case for Willie Cauley-Stein, who is projected to plummet in the draft of the Knicks don’t take him at No. 4 overall.

According to Basketball Insider’s Steve Kyler, the draft stock of Kentucky center Willie Cauley-Stein has dropped significantly after he worked out poorly for teams this summer. His stock has been so damaged that he may fall out of the Top 10 and drop to the 20s.

This is bad news for Cauley-Stein, but it’s good news for teams like Milwaukee, Cleveland and Toronto who could use a big beefy center to develop for the future or even come off the bench in certain situations. There are options outside of the Top 10 who could take Cauley-Stein, as the Pacers, Heat, Suns and Jazz could consider him if they feel his ankle is alright.

Having an injury this close to the draft and having one that effects your draft workouts is an obvious issue. It’s one that has scared teams off of the Kentucky big man, and it might cause a Jared Sullener-style slide to a team in the late teens or early 20s.

Wow. If he falls to #16 and we don't draft him, I will be seriously p---ed. Even if there were a 50% chance he never plays an NBA game, sometimes you just have to be a baller and put it all on red.

He may need surgery? Ouch.

Well I would still see how serious it is, and hope Ainge pulls the trigger anyways.

I don't want him with these foot problems either, but just out of curiosity, why do you find foot issues to be cause for concern with WCS but not Embiid?

Would much rather take RHJ at 16 if we must remain pat.

Ford actually elaborated further on the ankle issue. He had surgery, but when NBA doctors looked at the x-rays they didn't like the way the plate was positioned. So he'll need to eventually go under the knife to readjust the plate and clean it up. He also said that their is no concern for it to be a chronic issue.

Man, thats an odd shallow comparison.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

If we stay at 16 I would be very happy with Stein, even if he needs surgery.

Big guys with foot problems is the classic red flag.  There's a long line of guys who's careers got ruined by them.
