This seems like as good a place as any for me to rant against the nonsense that is the 2pm trade deadline. What possible purpose does it serve for teams to be able to trade behind the scenes and force these young kids into the awkward situation of having to wear the hat and answers questions about a team they know they won't be playing for?
I know MLB doesn't allow trades (which is also ridiculous) but the NHL and NFL drafts both allow trades, and I think it adds to the drama and entertainment value of the whole spectacle. It's a ridiculous rule that makes literally zero sense and should be terminated immediately.
