Source says Celtics have indicated that to part with Marcus Smart they "would have to be blown away" by an opportunity.

Wonder if Danny would give him up for Okafor . I don't think I would  . Okafor is bad on defense, can't contain the pick and role , avg rebounder and bad ft shooter. Hope Smart isn't in the "Godfather " package

If Danny is making a "Godfather" offer, I'm thinking #16, #28, and this in Hinkie's bed.

Wonder if Danny would give him up for Okafor .
yes, he would.   You take franchise big man over defensive guard every time.

I cant see us giving up Smart unless Russel or Cousins is coming to Boston.

yes, but i believe RH's point was that is it reasonable, given the stats proffered, that okafor is NOT a franchise big man but more in the mold of jefferson, or a tad better.

with THAT as your assumption, the argument shifts.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I just don't see Danny's excitement about Okafor unless he will be used as the main chip to get Cousins. Then I get it.

I agree 100%. I think Okafor is a great top 3 pick, but not a player to trade all of your future assets for. He is Al jefferson, or Brad Daugherty if he exceeds potential.

Doubt they use Smart to grab Okafor.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

this is why  most people and fans would make really bad GM's because they would trade guys like Smart without thinking it through first or finding  better options.

Marcus Smart isnt any ordinary "defensive guard" he can efficiently guard positions 1-3, and probably even some 4's. Barring injuries he"ll be in the running for DPOY many times throughout his career.

And sure, Okafor was impressive his first and only season at Duke, but "franchise big men" usually play defense. Okafor had trouble guarding 5's in college. His defensive short coming will be magnified in the NBA, ecspecially because hell probably end up having to play center.
