I come down on this the same way I have for the past year:  They're comparable talents, but Kelly's extra ability from deep, longer rookie deal, and most importantly, fewer chronic injury issues make me prefer to move Sully.

I think Sully is probably a bit better as a player but those injury and conditioning issues worry me a lot.  He reminds me of a more talented, bigger Big Baby, with the same downsides.

I'd be fine with moving both and starting fresh at 4 if it came down to it though.

^ I second all of the above.

Trade Olynyk. Keep Sullinger.

Agreed.

I must be missing something that it's even a discussion...

Outside 3-pt shooting is there any one thing Olynyk does better than Sullinger?

Handle the ball, run the floor, and rip arms out of sockets.

I would absolutely trade both of them if the value was there.  There are so many power forward options available that neither is a need.  Be it a big-time free agent like Love, Aldridge, or Monroe, trade options like David Lee or Taj Gibson, or placeholders from our own roster in Bass and Jerebko (not to mention Crowder in small lineups), there are many ways for the C's to fill that role, several of which are upgrades over last year's production, and those that are wo't get in the way of long-term planning.

That's not a knock on either player -- but the C's need an upgrade at most any position, and PF is the easiest option to fix.  If another team has salary limitations, either Sully or Olynyk could be a nice add.

No cheating, you have to CHOOSE one to trade/keep!

Kind of how I feel..

I don't get why people want to keep either as if their a stable option.

They can both be easily replaced, and are just the only valuable big men we have on our team next to Zeller.

Regardless, give me Love or Millsap/Gibson over those two anydays... KO might be a great 3 pt shooter, but scorer/facilitator, and most importantly rebounding?

If I had choose between the two, KO.

Passing, dribbling, running the floor, rotating defensively..

Nope.

Also dribbling, running the floor, and rotating defensively may be true, but Sully still has the better numbers per 36.

I also think people overrate KO's pick and roll defense. Its atrocious. He doesn't have good lateral quickness, and his height is his only saving grace when he gets the token block.

I feel like Olynyk has a gift for tearing up bench players, so if we're only keeping one and it's meant as a bench player, then we have to keep Kelly.  Seems like we've already traded Sullinger for Turner, anyway

Trade KO. keep JS. I am surprised the board is 2:1 in the other direction so far.

Sullinger still has a ceiling of a solid starting 4. He has superior low post scoring and rebounding abilities. Olynyk is an 8th man at best, and I don't see a ceiling higher than that for him.

I like what Sully can do and could do......better .....better skills ....butttttttttttttttt

But ,

I think I like the fact Kelly works harder and will be a more stable player over the long haul .....he'll remain healthy .

I don't trust Sully to stay fit and healthy in the long term scheme.   ......

I think Sully falls off the band wagon and balloons up to 300 again ...... A la Big Baby ..

Look at Sully's dad .......that's where he is heading .

I'm looking for the "who cares" option.  Neither is a real difference maker so stay or go, doesn't really matter.
