Sam Dekker
Why they take him: There's no one else on the board who really excites Boston. Dekker doesn't necessarily excite either, but at least he has size, athleticism and gives them help at a positional need. Brad Stevens is the perfect coach to build him up and help him do what he does best. And when Dekker is confident, he can be awesome.

Why they pass: Several players who have the toughness Danny Ainge prefers -- Montrezl Harrell and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson -- are still on the board. The Celtics have been working the phones hard to move up in the draft. With Cauley-Stein sliding, perhaps they can move up into the early teens and grab him.

Rashad Vaughn
Why they take him: He has enough talent to go 10 spots higher. Danny Ainge can't pass on a good deal. Vaughn isn't ready, but he can shoot and score from anywhere on the floor. The Celtics, who are so defense-minded in their backcourt sans Isaiah Thomas, could use him.

Why they pass: The Celtics could easily go the draft-and-stash route as well. Between Hernangomez, Milutinov, Gudaitis and Turkish swingman Cedi Osman.

Jarell Martin
(From Philadelphia via Miami) Martin is skilled, a very good athlete and he has an NBA body. He's just a bit of a tweener. But if he focuses on rebounding and toughness, he'd give the Celtics some more athleticism to their frontcourt.

Andrew Harrison

I could see the Celtics being the team willing to take a risk on Harrison. They have a strong leader and culture and Harrison has been bred in the hotbed of huge expectations at Kentucky. I think this would be an ideal landing spot for him.

"There's no one else at this spot that excites them.  This guy doesn't really either ...."

Not the words you want to hear on draft day.

Ford thinking: I have not seen a game Mickey has played. But he is a 6'8 pf.  Kind of athletic.   Hmmm 51 it is

Does Ford actually follow who has attented which workouts? Which prospects were asked to come in for 2nd workouts? Which prospects have been given a promise?  Mickey has stated he has been given a promise by a team picking in the late 20s.

Any time we're told Danny is definitely going to get this or that done it never happens. Remember when Ford told us in one of his final mocks last year that Flip was eventually going to have to accept that we had the best offer for Love?

I'm hoping this is a good sign. The best Danny moves typically come out of nowhere.

Per rumors Martin has been given a promise by a team picking in the 20s. He has barely worked out for teams, so i believe this rumor. This is why Ford sux

Here you go Triboy...

(via Chicago) Mickey could go 10 to 15 spots higher. He was very impressive in Chicago. But teams are still trying to figure out what else he gives besides shot-blocking. The Magic are in desperate need of rim protection, and this appears to be a good fit.

I'd be fine with Dekker at #16.
Celtics fan for life.

Again if Ford watched a game or 2 , if you made an effort to watch a game or two (eddie20), you would understand there is more to shotblocking in Mickeys game.

I wi be happy if Mickey is picked by the Celts at 45. But it wont happen.  At 45 will turn out to be one of the steals of the drafts

Givony, who you respect, has him going #39. He hasn't seen him play either? Apparently you're thr only one around who's seen him play, which is why you have him correctly ranked alongside Portis.
