It's hard to say. There's a lot of variables at play. Trading up into the top 10 or making other trades to help facilitate a bigger deal soon. If Ainge just sticks with the picks I will be dissapointed.

- moving into the top 10 without overpaying to get one of WCS, Johnson or Turner.  I think we'd have to overpay to go higher for a player that's just as much of a crapshoot to become good
- Moving up into the higher 20's from 28 to get Anderson (wouldn't be a failure if this didn't happen)
- not picking Upshaw in the first -- could live with him in the second.
OR
- using the picks in a deal to get an all-star in a trade

I would be pretty unhappy if Ainge kept all 4 draft picks.

Need to consolidate some of these assets.

Hey. You draft people might know the answer to this. How do draft position trades usually work? Like. Hypothetically we make a trade with the Knicks 16,28,33, and 45 for 4....do they announce the trade at 4 or do we need to wait until the Celtics make their picks at 16,28,33, and 45 before a trade is announced? Basically, I want to know if I'll be waiting all night to know if the Celtics pulled off a trade or not.
My biases, in order of fervor:
Pro:
Smart, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, Kemba, Grant Williams, Sleepy Williams, Edwards!

Anti:
Kanter, Semi, Theis, Poierier

I want to see something happen.  Be aggressive like they've been telling us they want to be.  Not waking up tomorrow with Ainge giving us the Public Relations answer of it being to too pricey to do anything.

We make a trade for a player/trade up and select someone who will actually give me hope of being a good player.

If we stand pat, make our pick at 16, and dont make a trade I will see it as a colossal failure

Stanley Johnson

(or Willie Caulie Stein)

I wouldn't mind if Danny also traded Thomas for a high pick, as its hard to see his value getting any higher than it is now.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
1. WCS slipping to 16 due to injury
2.Trading up from 16
3. Trading up from 28
4. If we stay at 16: drafting Bobby Portis
5. Trading for a quality player that I think has more value than 16
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

how far would the 28 and second rounders get us to move up in the first?   would it get us to the late teens?    i wouldn't be upset if they walked away with a player at 16 and 19.

Trading up to 6-9 range to get WCS. Should be doable, assuming he doesn't go earlier.

Pretty much any scenario where we consolidate assets into just 2 draft picks (either by moving up or by making a deal for veteran help.  There's a lot of scenarios I would like.  Only totally standing pat would seem underwhelming.

Turn 2 picks in one, moving up.

Please, no problem children, and pass on players that don't defend.

Trade the 2015 16th, 45th, 2016 Unprotected Brooklyn's 1st, 2016 Dallas 1st, Kelly Olynyk, Even Turner, Chris Babb, Phil Pressey, to the 76ers 3rd 2015 pick, Nerlens Noel.  Still draft Montrezl Harrell and Robert Upshaw.

Willie Cauley Stein falls to 12-14 we trade up using the 16th and the 45th.
28th pick we draft Montrezl Harrell or Justin Anderson.
33rd pick we draft Robert Upshaw.

The Celtics don't make the stupid trade for Anthony Bennett.

We either trade our 2016 1st and Wallace to open up cap room, or keep Wallace and trade him at the trade deadline.
