There's no way Ainge offered Smart, #16, and #28 for Noel and the #3 pick.  That's silly.  I'm guessing Ainge discussed making that or a similar offer for Noel or the #3 pick.

Ainge has a reputation for making lowball offers.

I agree he made the offer to the Sixers, but no way in hell would he then trade that package for Cousins. Makes no sense. It's giving way too much assets for a big who has anger issues. Seriously, nobody on this thread can say Cousins is a leader. Look I want Cousins and all, but every player has his value. I'd rather keep Noel and the #3 pick if that report in this thread is true about flipping the assets for Cousins. You have to remember that the Celtics also traded two first round picks and Smart to get those assets to flip.

Thats easy its a part of business... There is no one in the history that just starts off with a fair deal.. It gives leverage to the other team ... Always a starting number followed by negotiations... I can literally image DA doing this for days or even weeks..

I don't believe this happened. I love Smart, but such a trade is lopsided to the Celts.

Doubt it. We would trade him for Cousins if true.

Celts supposedly want Okafur

It's a rumor, yada yada, but supposing it was true, how could they be so sure Okafor wouldn't get picked at #2?

Because the quote is missing information, it's conditioned on the Lakers grabbing Russell who they also seem to be high on, though it's still indicated that Okafor is still the #2 most probable.

Okay, so you would trade Smart, Noel, #3, #16, and #28 for Demarcus Cousins? Just wondering?

Yes, I think EP would. I would, too.

Without question. That likely comes out to Smart, Noel, probably Russell, and two role players who aren't worth considering in this hypothetical. The potential of the three named guys is cool, but I'd rather bank on three guaranteed years of proven elite-level production from a young big in Cousins.

You can't look at the deal that way anyway, you have to look at the original deal of Smart and picks and yes I would do it. We would never have all those things together.
