I just want to know how much Ainge paid Gary Washburn to write this.

I certainly don't agree with all of Washburn's placements.  There'll probably never be a consensus on this sort of thing, but, honestly, I don't see what's so "homeristic" about his list.

I'm curious to know where you'd place the current Celtics from their given draft classes on your re-drafts?

Danny does a good job drafting.

6th or 7th for Smart in 2014.   Maybe 10th for Oly in 2013.   2012, Sully is probably 11th or 12th if he's healthy.

Which guys would you take ahead of Marcus?

Obviously, I get Wiggins and Parker.  I know you still think Embiid's going to be a stud.  After that, though, you've got to admit that the results on the 2014 draft are still very hazy.

I don't think it's crazy to say that so far Marcus looks like the best prospect out of the rest of that draft class.

You'd take Oly 10th, but you think Washburn's a homer for picking him 9th?  Really?

I think you'd have a hard time giving a realistic list of 10 or 11 guys from Sully's draft class that look like better prospects.

Won't even bother reading it. Washburn knows very little about NBA basketball. Listening to the Toucher & Rich DBs try to even talk about this shred made it that much more embarrassing.

Boston press knows jack about the NBA, generally speaking.

The problem with the premise is that you could easily dedicate 2,000 words to each year, and you'd probably have to in order to do it right (for example Kawhi is only getting all this praise because he was drafted by the Spurs who managed to fix his outside shooting -- in large part because they could afford to develop him at a relaxed pace while still making him earn playing time. That doesn't happen if he goes to Minnesota, and he probably never becomes the quintessential 3 and D guy he is today, or at least not nearly as quickly). That's a hard sell to get people to read, but if you skimp it just comes off as kind of half baked.

I think the redrafts mostly make sense, but I would like to see more rationale.

No way Joel Embiid falls to 11th last year.  I'd pull the trigger on the risky offer of Marcus Smart for Embiid straight up right now.
This article reads like the ramblings of an out-of-touch Boston homer.  I gave it a quick glance and got out of there.  Waste of time.
I couldn't get past the block of text. not even a 1-10 system.

Are you allergic to books?
developing an allergy to them, been reading textbooks day and night for the past month now

Play along guys.  It's fun and relatively easy.  Just go to BasketballReference's draft page and click on a given year.

You can organize guys by a number of categories including minutes played, points scored, games played, winshares, winshares per 48.

I'm not as high on Drummond as most.

Zach Lavine?  Eh, I'm not sold.  Maybe I'll take him at fourteen over KJ McDaniels.

Danny does a good job drafting.

6th or 7th for Smart in 2014.   Maybe 10th for Oly in 2013.   2012, Sully is probably 11th or 12th if he's healthy.

I would probably say...

2012
Anthony Davis, Bradley Beal, Damian Lillard, Draymond Green, Andre Drummond, Kris Middleton above Sully based on how good they are now, plus Harrison Barnes ahead of Sully based on potential.

That puts Sully at 8th overall.

2013
Oladipo, Noel, Carter-Williams get selected over Olynyk based on how good they are right now, along with Steven Adams, Rudy Gobert, Giannis, Schroeder, Gorgiu Dieng and Ben McLemore based on future potential.

That puts Olynyk at 9th overall in my books.

2014
Andrew Wiggins and Jusuf Nurkic selected over Smart based on how good they are right now, plus Jabari Parker and Joel Embiid taken over Smart for outright potential.

Elfrid Payton pretty much interchangeable with Smart, but I put smart Higher because he shows more promise as a shooter and as a defender.  I'd then have Payton and Lavine just after Smart, in that order.

That puts Smart at #5 overall for me.

So looking at them in that way, I think Danny has done very well.
