I'd still rather make a move up, but if there is no takers for moving up then hope Portis is there at 16, and move up to get Hollis Jefferson that shouldn't cost too much to move up 5 or 6 spots late in the first round. RHJ is actually a better and quicker defender of than he's teammate Stanley, he's just skinnier with a really bad jumpshot, but he really competes. If the jumper develops he's a nice player.

I was thinking the same. Perfect back up plan.

I do. If the C's can't trade up from 16. My preference has always been Portis at 16 then trading up from 28 to grab RHJ. TP for thinking the same.

Both could be rotation players immediately, but also have upside to improve.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I want Portis if we keep #16 but his stock has risen a few spots (12-15 range) lately. Also I was targeting RHJ when he was supposed to go early 2nd round. Now he's projected to go 20-25. Either him or Anderson with the second pick. If we can get them one of Turner or Crowder won't be needed.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

In a perfect world, it would be Portis and Justin Anderson, but this plan seems fine to me.

Yeah, I would be up for this. Always wanted Portis at #16 and RHJ or Harrell with the 2nd pick - I get that we would need to move up for either of these guys.

The players I like in this draft besides Towns which we wouldn't have a shot of getting, Russell if we get to 4, WCS or Hezonja if we get to 6-12, Portis if we stay at 16, D. Johnson or Micky at #28 but there is almost no possibility we actually pick a player at #28, and in the second round I'd like to take a flyer on Upshaw and Connaughton.

I don't like Winslow, only goes left, Myles Turner who has to learn how to run... no seriously, he needs to change the way he runs, Porzingis who seems like every other tall Euro player to not make it in the NBA, or even Okafor who isn't the shot blocker everyone says we need.

I do like Rozier from Louisville but I'm not sure where I'd pick him.

Portis is the guy I like at 16 as well.  If he's gone my worry is that we will select Oubre, Dekker, or Frank the Tank...I'd rather take Looney, Grant, Anderson.

Great backup plan.

These are guys are maximum effort players.  No coasting on defense at all.

They are versatile and can defend multiple positions.

I would be happy if this happened.

I agree with Mike (I would prefer Anderson) but your plan is good also...

i like it.   i think rhj has the potential to be a really impactful bench player,  sixth man of the year type   ceiling.
