With the Cavs loss, I believe Perk is now an unrestricted free agent.

Where do you guys think he'll end up next season? He chose Cleveland over the Clips this year. I don't know if he'll resign with Cleveland. Maybe he'll reunite with Doc.

Or maybe he waits and monitors Rondo's situation since they're best pals?

I say there's a 50% chance he ends up home for the season.  he's pretty much toast now.  hope he lands somewhere in the league though

Some team in the western conference who wants a Dwight Howard stopper. Perkins is the new-age Jason Collins.

Doc is basically out signing any ex-Celtic out there, maybe expect him there.

Good chance Perk stays in Cleveland I would have thought. They need a burly center behind Mozgov. Varejao is too injury prone to be counted on for duration of the season. Perk still has value to Cleveland in matching up against bigger more physical front-lines.

I think Orlando might take a look at Perk. Smart veteran defensive player with good leadership and a talker on the floor. The type of presence a young team could benefit from. Would help Skiles install his defense and teach it to teammates.

I could see Doc making a run at him. Bring him to the Clippers. They just traded Hawes so they have an opening at backup center and probably not much money to bring in a replacement. Perk would be a good low cost option.

I think the Wizards could use Perk. It sounds like Seraphin is about to leave. Perk would give them a solid backup center to add depth to their big man corps.

I would have said Chicago if Thibs was still there. They need another veteran center to replace Nazr Mohammed. Perk would do that. I don't know if the new head coach will want an offensive liability like Perk on the team though. So maybe not an option for Perk anymore.

I could see Brooklyn going after Perk if they trade Plumlee. I think Lionel Hollins will like Perk's physical toughness and defensive presence in the paint.

I don't know about Dallas. I'll put them in as a maybe. They are a team that often gives vets 2nd chance opportunities. They definitely need a center. Even if not first choice backup center, then as 3rd string. They value experience and leadership. Then again, they are big into advanced metrics and they haven't been Perk's friend over last few years. So only a maybe.

I actually 100% believe this. I'm pretty sure the Clips will make a push for the Truth, KG, and even Ray this off-season. Even if they are old they can give the Clips 10-12 minutes of good basketball.

No need to add any more mileage on his legs, sit out the start of the season , survey the landscape at the all star break and try and hook up with a contender then.Hopefully no one picks him up so he can fade off into the sunset. ;D

perhaps, but in the recent playoff run perk played in 8 games, had 10 total points and 9 total rebounds.

in 17 regular season games with the cavs perk averaged 2.6 points/g and 2.4reb/g.

the cavs would have to want a bulky, immobile, physical guy pretty bad to give up rebounds and points and passing.

perk...
is...
toast.

right now, perk is one of the worst centers in the league. i find it hard to believe the cavs could not do better.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Yeah, KG is now too. Sucks seeing these guys in their current state. Pierce at 37 is still going strong tho.

KG isn't putting up a lot on the stat sheet, but he's still been effective.

He actually had a positive Real-Plus-Minus (+0.89) mostly thanks to the fact that he ranked top 10 among Power Forwards in Defensive RPM.

He also averaged Per 36 numbers of 12 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 1.7 steals and he shot 47% from the field and was still one of the best bigs in the NBA from midrange  (42% from 10-16, 50% from 16 - 3PT).

Sure he's a far cry from the player he once was and his minutes are going to be limited no matter where he goes, but when he WAS on the court he's still been a pretty effective contributer.

He actually had a higher Real Plus Minus than Brook Lopez did this season haha

Well he's clearly developed a knack for traveling. Maybe he'll go overseas?

Haha TP, good one. I dunno why, but his skills just eroded at an alarmingly fast rate. He used to be a key cog during the Big 3 era...

Who cares? He was a nice complimentary player during the Big 3 era, but he's washed up now.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.
