Recent reports have stated that Charlotte like RJ Hunter a lot
but wont take him at 9 as it is too high
so they may trade down to pick up another asset

Celtics - Charlotte my proposed trade

Celtics = trade bradley + #16 + #28

Charlotte = trade marvin williams + #9

Celtics move up in the lottery + have to take on marvin williams bloated contract

Charlotte get bradley who is a solid 3D SG + 2 picks where RJ Hunter will still possibly be available at

IMO we are giving up far too much to Charlotte. Maybe Bradley and 28.. but I'd even be a bit hesitant about that.

This is a pretty steep price to pay for moving to 9.  I'd consider it depending on who's available.  If one of the higher ranked guys falls, then I'd probably do it, but I wouldn't want to do it before the draft and end up with, say, Stanley Johnson.  Assuming there's zero chance Towns, Okafor, or Russell is there, I'd do that trade if Mudiay, WCS, Winslow, Porzingis, or Hezonja is there (i.e. one team in the top 8 makes a surprising pick).  Turner should be there at 9, and I might consider doing this trade to get him, but I'd probably try to see if I could give up less for 10 or 11.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
If Charlotte likes Hunter so much, then force them to take him with the #9 pick. If they want the #28 (and possibly the #33), then I would do it, but I am not 'throwing in' Bradley in a deal that massively benefits Charlotte when they are the ones that possibly want to move down.

I know that all of us tend to fall in love with the potential of the guys in any upcoming draft, but Bradley, 16, 28, and taking on a bad expiring contract seems like a steep price to get to 9. Historically, what are the chances that a player at 9 will be even an effective pro as Bradley? Maybe 50%?  16, 28, and 45 for 9 seems more reasonable. 16, 28, and 33 only if they balk and there is someone I love at 9.

Yeah I've move all the picks for the No 9 but keep Bradley. ( has about a 50% bust rate..

How about 16, 28, 45 for 9?  I would do that, no need to include Bradley especially if they are drafting Hunter.
2019 historical draft.  Pick 12

Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Scottie Pippen, Willis Reed, Mitch Richmond, Sam Jones, Dan Majerle, Bob Cousy, Rasheed Wallace, Shawn Kemp, Marcus Camby

Like others have said, it all depends whose still on the board. If Turner and or Johnson are still left then i think you gotta pull the trigger. Im a big AB fan but an even bigger James Young fan. If the celtics can get top 10 talent while getting James Young, who is also top 10 talent, more playing time and experience then im all for it. I dont think the Celts would have to give up the 28th however.

maybe it is an overpay
But I wouldn't think. 16 + 28 = 9

I guess a fairer trade would be

Boston trades 16 + turner
Charlotte trades 9 + marvin Williams
