Here is link. Does not say where we would draft him, and makes a poor comparison to Garnett. Still, good fodder for draft debate!!!

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
At 33, with a non guaranteed contract i think he would be perfect.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I wouldn't say biggest problem,  more like longest problem.   ;)

Of course, in the ideal world :
- Trade up for Johnson or get Anderson
- Pick Upshaw at #33
- Sign LA & Matthews
And if chemistry is set throughout the year we can be the underdog that might win it all.

good god, if Upshaw goes undrafted, which is definitely possible considering all the issues, he will be the most heavily discussed undrafted player I can recall.

Since Lenny Cooke in 2002, probably.

Can't believe that there would not be at least 1 team in 2nd round willing to risk him. Too much upside.

I definitely see Danny grabbing him at 33 if he is still there and we hold that pick. It would take pressure off of trying to draft a big by moving up in draft with our 16.  Not worth it after Towns and Okafor (and Porzingis, who is not a center).

He'd be the perfect gamble with a non-guaranteed contract at 33, but I don't see any reason not to grab him at 28 if he's available. His upside is so high, and you can always bury him in the D-League if he doesn't work out.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

We don't even know what kind of stuff he has done. Crack? Heroine? Dealing? He has been kicked off multiple teams and apparently has done things so bad they literally shock team owners and scouts. He also has a heart condition. Why/How do people just ignore this stuff?

his drug problems definitely scares me, but at the 2nd round, i think it's worth a gamble. I'm also pessimistic that this kid won't turn it around for some reason.

He literally should be picked at 16. Thats def a reach but if Danny can get a trade down or something then fine, I just want him on my team.......along with Myles Turner for Avery Bradley!

It's confirmation bias, people only seek out and acknowledge information that supports their beliefs, and mostly ignore or discredit the information that is of the opposite viewpoint. You can't also see in their posts that they attribute his short comings  to Upshaw's situation that he is in rather than his own dispositional issues.
