Guys, it may sound simplistic, but 21 year olds with 43 inch verticals are not low upside players. Especially those who improved their 3PT shooting as much as he has over his college career.

What I like most about Anderson is the onus he puts on being a good teammate.  In his draftexpress interview he continually mentioned being vocal, encouraging teammates, and talking on defense.  Those are great intangibles for a player.  I want.

I think it's within the realm of possibility Ainge is floating this to get other guys in to work out with us.

Hear that Sam Dekker? We LOVE Justin Anderson!

There's a Justin Anderson available for a reasonable price in free agency basically every season.  What's more, that type of player can be drafted in the late 1st / 2nd round and coached into a good system player.

The Celts have to go for upside.  Not another Jae Crowder.

Why doesn't Anderson have an upside?
2019 historical draft.  Pick 12

Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Scottie Pippen, Willis Reed, Mitch Richmond, Sam Jones, Dan Majerle, Bob Cousy, Rasheed Wallace, Shawn Kemp, Marcus Camby

There are better 3's in next years draft and I think the team will be going youth movement(in my gut). I'd go for Myles Turner(trade Avery) and make sure I can select Upshaw even if we have to trade down from 16.

Also I hope we are interested in the 4th pick. IT and Sully would have to be included but we could possibly get 1 of the top 3 if they drop and just doing the trade would make us a top lottery pick next year. We still have CBS so we know the team is going to work hard and compete but we still will get a great pick on our own and then add BKN's.

We could draft Brandon Ingram, Jaylen Brown, Ben Simmons, Skal, Thon Maker, Malike Pope etc.

I love the kids energy and athleticism. Kid reminds me of a better 3 pointing shooting Iguadala. We would still need bonified scorer, but our defense would be legit.

Smart, Bradley, Anderson, Crowder...that's some smothering perimeter D.

If we want him it should be possible to use some combination of assets to move up a bit from 28. Can't cost that much. No need to reach at 16.

Great words from a great man

I'll break this algorithm. It was hard, but this means we are not interested in Justin Anderson.

Yup. For a guy like Justin Anderson to be available at 16 , its a good thing for the Celts.

here's some reasons not to like him, he's physical and really athletic but he averages a career 3.5 rebounds per game also  he averaged less than nine points per game  in his career,  and shot .430%  he had one good year shooting the three, but only 1.8 spg, and the other two years were under 30% he's also a junior, Crowder has more Upside IMO.
