One thing I will say...the Cavs seem likely to give him a stupid big contract. This smells a lot like LeBron's previous Cavs stint, where he encouraged/pushed the front office to pay good money to role players, which greatly limited their roster flexibility. Granted, LeBron plus a team of the right role players is actually really good, but still, they couldn't do a lot. This time, they have Kyrie, so that's a big improvement, but if they pay through the nose for Thompson (likely), they almost certainly can't keep Love (who might leave, anyway), and they might have to cut salary elsewhere, since that would be 3 max contracts, and only 2 guys who actually deserve them.
