odd.  knowing how Karl likes to play, you might assume that Sac was looking to anchor him at center & surround with stretch4s and shooters...

this kind of pairing would seem to fly in the face of Karl's philosophy.

which wouldn't be surprising, knowing that DMC wasn't a fan of him to begin with.

then you have all this FO drama...things really seem to stink in Sacramento.

why should Boogie stick it out?
he needs to demand a trade --like this week-- and make sure this group of incompetent suits don't ruin his career.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
So Cousins wants to guard guys like Blake Griffin.  That doesn't make sense.

WCS is a versatile defender.  I'd imagine he would guard the more athletic 4s.  I think those two would be a great pairing.
It would be. But You will need two good shooters for spacing. WCS will be deadly on pick and role with Collison.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Basically, if the Kings draft WCS, then they are all-in on keeping Cousins; however, if they choose anybody else, expect Cousins to demand a trade. This is a really good test on the part of Cousins to see if management respects his opinion.

If I'm Sacramento, there's no doubt who I'm selecting.

I just don't think Cousins and WCS will mesh at all. They'll alway be in each other way, just like the front line in Detroit. WCS deals down low, he has no outside game to speak of, honestly he doesn't have much of an offensive game yet.

WSC will never learn a single thing from Cousins, he'll be assigned the dirty work at all times, he'll never improve his game. He will forever be a second fiddle, and not develop.

Cousins should never be the influencing force of anyone, he should be the one being influenced by his superiors.

Putting Cousins at PF would be silly.  You have a guy who gives you a huge advantage at the center position pretty much regardless of the opponent, you should take advantage of that.  At the 4, Cousins has fewer natural advantages, and creates spacing issues.

It would be an interesting pairing. Spacing wouldn't be ideal, but both players can knock down mid-range jumpers enough to make it work I think. Two-in is out of style in the NBA these days but that doesn't mean it can't work. If I were the Kings I would definitely draft him, he'll likely be BPA, he keeps your superstar (relatively) happy, and the fit is not bad.

WCS is not well rounded enough to mesh with Cousins. They'll suffer the same fate like Monroe and Drummond did.

To me it's silly not because two-in is "dead" or anything like that, but just because it lessens the advantage created by the best player on the team.  Cousins is far away the most dangerous offensive center in the game, and has turned into a quality defender, too.  No reason to put him at the 4 and pull him away from the basket on both ends.

Just play WCS as the pf. Makes more sense

Cousins cant care and should be happy he will get help on the defensive end. Prob see some cousin to wcs lobs on the offensive end

And, from a more reliable source:

Rudy Gay Will Play "More at the Four" Next Season

I suspect if Mudiay's on the board, this is where he lands.

Or draft a player you can actually hope to play more than 15-20 minutes a night.

Hm, can the Celtics draft WCS and then Cousins will force his way to Boston?  ;D He and that franchise won't get far in terms of championships or even contention. It's best to play for a team and city known for championships.
