Im wondering if any team will ever suit his type of play? Are players over his extreme intensity on and off the court? Is he too old fashioned? Will he only be useful as a defensive co-ordinator?

It seems that with the Thibs style of defence he revolutionised the way defences operate but the league seems to have adapted to his strategies and I wonder if he will ever get the chance again to be a HC in the NBA as the Pelicans seemed a perfect fit for him and even they passed on him.

What are your thoughts?

Of course.

The question is will he have learned anything from his first time?

Oh, definitely.

Winning percentage plus pedigree, he'll be a head coach again in the NBA when he wants to.

I think he would but not sure its up to him now, especially the way the league is going pace wise, it doesn't seem to suit his coaching style and I think very few teams suit him nor want someone with a reputation of stubbornness.

But I hope he does, he deserves it

Yet we are watching a team lacking in talent at the moment playing that style to a 2-2 series in the finals.

There are only so many top players that teams can put out there to play that style.  Teams will continue to play varying styles.

Plus, really, what style a team can / should play will always come down to its best player(s).  If a team has a superstar that will thrive in a slower, grind-it-out style, that's the style the team will play, if it's well managed.

Not to mention that the Thibodeau defense has been largely figured out, and teams are beginning to shy away from it.

but yes, I think he gets another job. Becoming an NBA head coach is so difficult because teams are reluctant to hire you if you haven't done it before, and former HC's almost always get precedence over unproven candidates.

He deserves another chance, but he definitely has to adjust some of his coaching philosophies.  He HAS to be willing to coach more offense, or at least have an offensive minded assistant coach (much like how he was the defensive-minded assistant for Doc for 3 years).  He's the 180 of D'Antoni where you hear stories about him going literally weeks and weeks during practice without covering offense.

He also really needs to fix how he handles minutes.  He completely lost me when he had most his starting lineup in while up 40 in game 6 against the Bucks

If you have a .647 regular season winning percentage, someone is going to give you a second chance.  Style be [dang]ed.

What are your thoughts?

Without your second paragraph I'd have thought you were talking about Scott Skiles.

With Thibs' record....It's not if...But when.  And very soon.

The man is one of the best coaches in the league. He'll be back and he'll excel.
