There will inevitably be trades, but if there weren't this is
my feelings about the teams and the picks.

                      Should take:                 Will take:

Minny:                Towns                          Mudiay
Lakers:               Towns                          Towns
Philly:                 Russell                         Russell
NY:                     Okafor                         Okafor
Orlando:             Porzingis                       Porzingis
Sac:                    Payne                          Payne
Denver:               Winslow                       Winslow
Detroit:               Hezonja                        Hezonja
Bobcats:              Turner                          Turner
Miami:                 Johnson                       Johnson
Pacers:                WCS                            Booker
Utah:                   Kaminsky                     Kaminsky
Ok City:               Lyles                             Lyles
Hawks:                WCS                              WCS
Celts:                  No clue                          No clue

Cant decide a preference for the Celtics among the usual suspects: Dekker, Portis, RHJ and Oubre.  Today I'm leaning RHJ.  I feel like he's going to have a special impact.  Really like Dekker's smoothness and Portis' size and demeanor.  Love Gran't size and ability.  Not an Oubre fan but if it's meant to be then bring him on...

You think Mudiay?! How come? I have become a supporter, but would be absolutely shocked to see him go before #3. Surprised that you're thinking WCS drops beyond Pacers given Hibbert's future seems very questionable.

Yeah.  WCS will undoubtably be selected in the lottery.  That was one of the fun things about doing it like this though...each team has to make a decision and can only take one guy.  And every year someone falls.

Also, I think some teams may still be a little thrown off by WTCS's big personality (even if it's a great one)...and or lack of offense.

I just can't see Flip skipping Mudiay.  There are no PG's in next year's draft as highly touted as Mudiay and Russell, but there are a lot of PF/Center types.  So Flip can take Mudiay now and get his future PF next year (if Payne, Bennett don't work out)....as the Wolves will certainly be in next year's lottery.
In any case, I think they should take Towns.  I just think Flip go for the next possible great PG.

How much better can Towns be than Rasheed Wallace and how close to John Wall level can Mudiay get?  Who would people take, prime Wallace or prime Wall?  Not sure it's even apt but we'll see...

I could see Mudiay at 2, with Philly skipping on Okafor and thus him falling to the Knicks. But Towns would have to go # 1. Unless they trade back, which I think is actually possible cause I think they like Okafor, Minny will either take Towns or Okafor.

If it's Towns, LA could certainly take Mudiay. Or even Russell. And since they didn't get the #1 pick, which I think would've put them in a spot where they almost had to take one, I can't see Philly taking another center. I guess if anyone would take a guy like Okafor even though you have Embiid and Noel who already don't fit together with the purpose of trading one or two and extract major trade assets , it's Hinkie. But they have to start trying at some point. If all that happens, Okafor could certainly land with the Knicks, which would be huge for them. That kid is ready to come in and make an impact right away.

WCS at 15 though? I really can't imagine that happens. I'll be really surprised if he falls out of the top 10. If he does, or even close to it, Ainge would almost certainly find a way to trade up at least a few spots and grab him. And he should, I'm not a huge WCS guy, but he certainly looks like an excellent defensive big at the very least.

To be honest, I think Ainge is trying hard to trade up because if he can get a guy like Johnson or WCS that's gonna come in and make an impact right away, it's a selling point. Let's say Aldridge really is considering Boston, when he meets with Ainge, DA will be able to say "Look, not only do we have a war chest of trade assets and a proven track record of building a contender, but I already started". Man, WCS would look good next to him.

I don't think minty takes mudiay, towns or okafor are superior players and allows Saunders to move pekovic

Lakers take whoever is left from okafor and towns. Most likely okafor

New York I think would take Winslow as he is a safer bet in the draft compared to mudiay, porzingis, hezoja
Plus he is a two way player that can fit in the triangle

Bobcats take Johnson, turner has too much of a gamble plus they have too much depth at the front court taking biyombo, zeller, and vonleh recently
Johnson is very good defensively which is something mj likes for wings

don't agree on the selections though.

Based on who's still available in each column (and not accounting for several trades I'm expecting to occur)

Oh Thanks....I could see Phoenix taking Dekker or Oubre in my list...

I like DeCosta's point above about WCS as a selling point for someone like Aldridge...good defense next to him and won't take any offense away from him...If I stick WCS into the lottery where he belongs I'd have him going to Indiana instead of Booker....Then Booker to Utah as you have....

Can't see the Kings taking Payne if he isn't talent wise good enough to be 6. Collison is the type of point guard that fits with Cousins and Gay because he is a good shooter and non ball dominant, along with being a plus full court defender. Point guard just isn't that much a position of need that they will sacrifice talent to pick. If you believe Payne is good enough to be picked 6 at large than I can understand

Put it this way, it would be unpopular on a Kings board, I believe, lol
