Sign Aldridge to max

Then

bos send: Bradley , KO , Wallace (exp)Brk  2016 , bos 2016
NYK send: Melo

Resign crowder

Trade up for WCS

PG: Smart.   /IT
SG: Turner. / Young
Sf:Melo         / Crowder
PF: Aldridge / Sully
C. : WCS.        / zeller

Thoughts?

I don't think that's nearly enough for the Knicks to part way with Melo. Remember, they're in "Win Now" mode. A trade like this sets them back into rebuild mode around whomever they select with pick 4 this year.

This trade doesn't help them rebuild very quickly.

Edit: Again, I don't think Boston pries away a Veteran Star without giving up Smart. I just don't see how it happens. Also, if we're trading up to get a better I'm thinking we'd have to select that player for the Knicks and send him to NY as a part of this trade.

I think the Celtics would be the last team that Phil Jackson would trade Melo to
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Melo has a no-trade clause.

Wouldn't want Melo on the C's, seems counter productive to our offense.

Only if Danny wants to undermine his coach and everything he's built in the rebuild so far.

Time to make a shocking revelation to you: there is a thing called salary cap.

EDIT: I see you account for some trades too. So, apologies for the sass. Strictly speaking what you describe might work.
Having said this, it is extremely unlikely we land two all star calibre players this summer. I really think we need to get a bit more realistic in our scenarios.

Melo is an aging star, with a suspect knee, an incredibly bad contract, and a bad attitude.

If we could get Rondo back, as a player coach, and add in Cousins at center. Josh Smith is a friend of Rondo, and is also a free agent, he'd fit right in with what we're trying to do.   ::) ::)

1. Nowhere near enough for Melo.
2. Melo is the ultimate anti-Celtic, he doesn't fit our gritty and defensive identity. He's a great player, or scorer rather, but someone I'd have trouble rooting for.
3. What/Who are we trading to get WCS? All of our assets would be sent to get Melo.

Short answer: No, no he would not.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

No way do the C's want to deal with Carmelo.  Huge head case who has a "me first" attitude that's against everything Boston is trying to build.
Mark Price is the current head coach of the Charlotte 49ers and a former American basketball player who played for 12 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), from 1986 to 1998. Spending the majority of his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

I don't see it happening, Melo is the kind of guys DA would unload for draft picks, not acquire.

Boy if Melo became available I'd bite.

He impressed me with his last full healthy year in NY. Kept his mouth shut, kept his head down, and had one of his most productive seasons EVER, and was rather efficient.

He can score just as well (if not better) than LeBron, he rebounds, he can dish. He showed defensive improvements, too.

If he can be had I'd love that.

A LaMarcus, Melo and WCS frontline would make me happy if Danny could pull that off.

Party like it's 2008 all over again.

I think it's intriguing.  Sure, we'd all prefer LeBron or Steph Curry, but those guys aren't available.

The question is whether a Gasol/Aldridge/Love plus Melo team with whatever Danny has left after making the trade is enough to contend right away.  If not, given the age of these players, it probably isn't worth it.

No. Melo is damaged goods.

I hope not.
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.
