What really ticks me off as is some of us are getting really excited that LMA is visiting Boston as a potential free agent destination and you have other people stepping in with negative comments for whatever reason like LMA visiting is a bad thing.

Yeah pretty annoying.  I'd love to sign some free agents (obviously for the teams sake) but in part to shut up the "No Free Agents go to Boston" jive.  Tired of hearing it.

Lebron James is in the state of California today.  Lakers fans must be pumped :-X

Right....not like Lebron is under contract to a team and in the finals or anything whereas LMA is a free agent.

Buried at the end of that article is that LA may have had dinner with Isaiah Thomas Friday night. Probably not true because there is no credible source but still interesting.

Let's jump 5 steps past where we should be even considering, who would be his ideal front court mate? If we get LaMarcus would you want to trade for Hibbert. I've seen Pacers fans on other sites targeting packages that are essentially #16 for Hibbert or Sully and 28 for Hibbert.

Before some folks start ::), consider that Hibbert signed his max deal with Portland and Indy matched. IIRC Aldridge was very open to the idea of playing with Roy. Throw in Wes Mathews and/or Thomas Robinson we could essentially end up with the team that should have been the '13 Trail Blazers.

At the time that was a top contender in the West.

P.S. Of course Aldridge/Hibbert couldn't be much farther from ideal Stevens system players but we'd still have Zeller/Olynyk for fast open sets and match up flexibility.

Thomas wasn't in Boston until Saturday.

So did anyone see LaMarcus Aldridge sitting next to Tony Parker with the audience watching the Kevin Hart show tonight?

This is the type of free agent that the Celtics would be wise to avoid. He's going to be 30 next year and is coming off injury. That being said he's a Texas guy. Who wouldn't want to make every last dollar possible? It just so happens that 2 out of the 3 Texas teams can afford him at the same price the Celtics can. There is no reason why he would pick cold Boston over warm San Antonio or Dallas with no state tax. Other than he doesn't want to compete in the West. If that part is the case then why would people want him here anyways? Do you think Larry Bird would have left the Celtics if the East was stacked out of its mind back then? Its a trick question. Guys like Bird, KC, McHale, Parish, Russell were gamers. Paul Pierce was a gamer. Danny Ainge was one as well, which is why I don't understand why he's going for someone that could be the next Wilkins signing. Is LMA washed up? No. But by year 3 he probably will be well on the back 9.

He's a Spur however. All that needs to happen is the official press conference. Why leave Portland if you were going anywhere else but home?

The only way the Celtics will sign free agents is by overpay to offset the taxes and the lack of endorsements and the craptastic weather.

Or to play for winner that has a great coach.
I don't see anyone coming here other than Kosta Koufos with a slight overpay. If we can move up in the draft and get a wing or WCS sign all our guys I see us going to 5th seed. We will look good and show this is the place to be. The nets bomb and we get the lottery is realistic.
Many Feel DA will make a draft night trade we shall see.

ALDRIDGE YES

Love No.

Aldridge makes us a contender in the east. Love makes us the same team, with less money.

keep grasping at those straws to justify your tankathon philosophy.   the weather and taxes haven't stopped any of the other Boston teams from attracting top FAs.  Let's see how the C's do now that they have some money.  if top players stay with their current teams, well, no surprise there.  if players move to new teams other than Boston and those teams are roughly the same talent-wise as Boston, then this may be a discussion point.

What's wrong with you man? How do you know what LMA is thinking? Here's a thought maybe LMA actually LIKES the City of Boston. May be hard to grasp. Hate all the negativity towards Boston and FA will never sign here blah blah blah. In less you can read minds a statement like the one you just made is pretty much useless.

This is one thing I've never understood.  Yes the weather in Boston in the winter sucks!  But, wait for it, they play basketball during the winter so what does it matter!  They have most of the summer off to enjoy themselves where ever they desire.  That weather argument is getting old, fast!
