A 100 million dollar player.? I love him because I am a huge UK fan but I am not sold on the 100 mil that LB said he is worth. IF you are that kind of player are you not the face of the franchise? If you are giving that kind of money to a player that isn't then you are in for a long long battle fighting the salary cap. Although it is going up that will just mean salaries are going up also. He will have to develop an all around game to be worth that much to me.

He may show a lot more in workouts than he ever did at UK due to the way Cal used him. I don't see the 100 mil from watching him at UK. He is a stud on D but you don't give that kind of money for a stud on one end of the court. His athletic ability is almost unheard of and can probably be a great foundation BUT for him to be THAT player I think he needs to go the right organization with the right coach and front office to actually reach that.

Is that Boston I don't know but we sure have a good organization to support him.

Rumors are saying that DeAndre Jordan is going to be offered the max which is above 100 million (if I'm not wrong) and he is also a player who (for the most part) only excels on the defensive end of the court. So if WCS is ever able to reach the level of DeAndre he might get 100 million at one point of his career.

I personally don't know how well WCS is going to play at the next level. He is widely known as a good defensive player, but Frank Kaminsky torched him in the game vs. Wisconsin, hence that it's going to be exciting to see how he fares against good players in the NBA.
Jack of all trades, master of none.

I agree with that.
Plus, it's all about the demand/offer ratio as well.
7ft tall that are productive is rare in nba, the fewer player the higher the contract.
If one day a lot of 7ft pop up in a draft, I guess the price tag will start to go down.
That's why is so hard to get a very good rim protector. Not only they don't come in the market often, but you have to "overpay" them and maybe compromise your future cap wise.

Who Knows!?

Did anyone have an idea Steph Curry would be a max guy when he was drafted??

I think it's impossible to tell unless that player is a sure thing out of college/HS (Lebron, Duncan, Davis etc)

I'll give it 2-3 years before I make up my mind, but my opinion doesn't mean jack :)

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.

He is an athlete that does not come around that often. I think he is worth the gamble if he drops below 8. I would give up a nets pick to move up and get him.

He isn't right for our culture. I feel like we as a fan base will eventually get annoyed by him. He doesn't like basketball and he doesn't play with toughness or fire. Like how we were all frustrated with Jeff Green.  He is one of the most athletic men his size (or any size) on the planet, yet he can't even score in college or manage to block more than 1.7 blocks per night. He's a slightly less stupid Javale Mcgee

I'm super high on WCTS' athleticism and defensive ability.  However, to be perfectly honest, I would rather have Justise Winslow at this point.  He seems to have a better attitude, be a bit more focused and heady, and he also fills a position of need for us.

The fact that he doesn't love basketball is not only evident by watching him play, but also from an anonymous nba scout that spoke with bleacher report.

That contradicts his interview on DraftExpress. Also did you watch him play? He seemed pretty passionate when he switched onto Jerian Grant and forced him to take that impossible shot, sealing the ND vs UK game... Assuming that he can ONLY block 1.7 blocks per night based on him playing at UK is silly. He was playing with a stacked front court which is obviously going to effect his percentages. Also, take BR with a grain of salt. It's not the most professional reporting out there.
