Amy Schwartz: One month before free agency begins...and LaMarcus Aldridge's Portland home is for sale. Take it for what it's worth. #Blazers Twitter @TheAmySchwartz - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.IemYTuJJ.dpuf

I know a lot of people think he's going to Dallas or Los Angeles. I just don't see what would attract him to those teams, they have over the hills stars but don't really have anyone else to build around. maybe Danny's plan is coming true sign Matthews and Aldridge?

It's definitely unlikely, but I'm not that enthused about whatever slim chance there is of Aldridge coming here.  He's an excellent player, but he's not enough to make us contenders (with or without Matthews coming along), and he's about to turn 30, so we wouldn't have as much time to build a roster around him as we would, say, Love.

...that said, wherever he is next opening day, I don't think it'll be in Portland.

He'd have to be an idiot not to go to San Antonio.

He would be paired with one of the best small forwards in the NBA for the rest of his career.

He would be coached by Pop.

He would play for a championship next year with Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli.

He would be near where he grew up.

I want him in Celtic green, and I would normally think that we have a shot, if it wasn't for San Antonio.

I think Alridge to San Antonio make a lot of sense too.
For San Antonio, it's the player they need to win it next year.
For Alridge, he'll have the best shot of his career to win it next year and he'll be near home to finish his career.
Sound too perfect for both party.

The selling the home deal is never 100% thing  ,  but more times than not , it seems to point ...to a player  ...going to another team.

Dallas , Spurs and Lakers can't possibly TAKE All the star free agents.......everytime you hear a ster is leaving ...it's always for one of these teams ........just impossible .   They MIGHT each get one .....at most .

If I'm a star......I also see no point in staying out west where the teams are all loaded to the max .......your just another fish in the pond and hope to make the playoffs.

In the east at least for the moment , a player can be the big fish in the pond for his team and conference.

Can San Antonio sign both Aldridge and Leonard? You gotta think Leonard comes first. What ever happens with Aldridge it sounds like he's ready to jump ship. Maybe a long shot for the Cs but it would be nice to see him in green.

Would love to have Aldridge in green!

Whatever happened to Sherrod's bull s*** story about the Celts having a 35 to 40 percent shot at landing him and Matthews?

Leonard comes second, because his cap hold is a lot lower than his salary will wind up being.  And because of this fact, they absolutely can sign both.

The bigger issue is Duncan and Ginobli.  They might have to move someone to make room for Aldridge if they give enough to Duncan and Manu.

Leonard comes second in terms of timing, but he is absolutely the first priority.

That would be a pretty dangerous lineup, I wouldnt be mad to see that.

More likely means one would be retiring.  They'd have about $6 million in cap room if both got their respective maxes (as long as Leonard signs last).  Manu made $7 mil last year, so $6  mil wouldn't be a crazy paycut.  If they move Splitter, they could probably keep both.

I think Aldridge will age pretty well.  He's 30, but I'd expect him to continue playing at a very high level for at least another 3-4 years, particularly if Ainge could get the right young-ish center to do the dirty work down low and spare Aldridge a bit.

That's not the same as getting a guy who could be elite for another 10 years, but it should be enough time to put a decent supporting cast around him and enjoy a handful of 50+ win seasons.

If San Antionio does sign both Leonard/Aldridge, Cs should try to sneak in and see if they can grab Splitter. Whiles he's no Aldridge, he's a solid big man that could be had for much less.
