Even with Lebron's night, the Warriors needed to shoot uncharacteristically bad from 3 and score 93 points in 53 minutes to barely lose. I still wouldn't pick the Cavs in this series.

I was thinking along similar lines.  It took a great game from James and a horrible game from Curry for the Cavs to win in overtime by 2.

Even with that bad shooting night for the Warriors they still outshot the Cavaliers 39.8% to 32.2%.  LeBron's great game came on 11-35 shooting also.  Not saying Cleveland will win the series, but they've struggled just as much if not more than the Warriors have through two games.

That's because Lebron's 18 FT attempts don't count as 9 made FGs.

And this is what I expected from the Cavs.  Hard gritty annoying defense and riding James on offense.  I don't know if they can still win the series without Irving, but I fully expect at least a split in Cleveland.  And Thompson, Delly, Shump, Smith, and Jones were still just 13 of 46.  They won't be that bad all series.

And yeah I know Curry was awful, but I never expected Curry to be very good in this series.  It is why I originally picked Cleveland and why despite losing Irving that I think the Cavs still have a decent chance to win the series.  They play the style of defense that just plain disrupts a guy like Curry.

You totally picked Cleveland because you're from the area. Don't be coy. :D
Well I do see a lot of them.  I just thought the Cavs matched up well with Golden State.  If Houston was there, I would have picked Houston.  I think they are a terrible match-up for Cleveland (that was before Irving got hurt of course).  Washington would have pushed Cleveland as well as they are a tough match-up.

I just think the type of defense Cleveland plays is perfectly suited against the Warriors, a team that has no real post up players nor any players that really take it to the hole with authority.  Those are the teams that give the Cavs the most trouble and that is not the Warriors.  Now granted without Irving a lot changes, but Cleveland won game 2 on the road and shot 32%.  That should never happen.

I am still going with Golden State. I think they will recover and win the series.

I think a lot of people feel that way, but for me Game 3 was the game that was going to let the world know what kind of series this was going to be and we now know.  Golden State is going to have play very well to win the series.  It isn't going to be easy and they can't have an off night.  Even with Lebron shooting 40% and the rest of the Cavs not a whole lot better, Golden State is down 2 games to 1.  And sure everyone thinks the Cavs are going to run out of gas, but they haven't yet and need just 2 wins.

Obviously that was before Game 5, but:
If you don't think LeBron James (and friends, but his teammates are dead weight at this point) is gassed now I'm not sure what to tell you. Dude shot 6-16 at the rim last night because he was dog tired, and once the Warriors figured out that Mozgov -- allmighty terror and knee-jerk "where was AINGE?!" post posterboy for Game 3 (a game they lost by 20) --  couldn't deal with being double teamed the only thing working in Cleveland's favor was and is the hope that Golden State collectively shoots jumpers with the ability and finesse of DeAndre Jordan.

They played all of Game 5 looking like they were down 10-15 points, even when the score was tied.

Cavs chance of making it all the way dimmed when Kyrie went down. Irving's and Love's assignments and roles  were taken over by LeBron and to some unreliable Cavs.

Series changed when the Cavs started limping, literally.

Oh yeah, the Cavs ran out of gas in game 4 and down the stretch of game 5.  Still might have enough to win game 6, but I really can't see them going back to Oakland and winning game 7 (if they even win game 6).  Losing Irving seemed to kill their chances.  Feisty team, but you can't really beat a 67 win team without your 2nd and 3rd best players.  The fact that there is even a game 6 says a lot.

LeBron will have one of his 6-24 nights with 12-15 FTAs  to boost up his scoring and the cavs lose!  I could see him leaving CLE which would be a disaster for him public relations-wise.

If GS controls the pace they win the game, if it is over 90 points you favor them, if below the Cavs.   Cavs only hope is to slow it down and try to grind it out.
