This really isn't a trade idea thread;  it is more of a "how much do you value these guys" thread.  If you could trade Marcus Smart for any player in this draft, how many would you be willing to trade him for?  Same question for James Young.

I would trade Smart for Towns, Okafor, Russell, Porzingis.

Young I would trade for a top 10 pick but I don't think another team would do that.
(The 4 above players and add in Winslow, Johnson, Hezonja, Mudiay, Cauley-Stein, and Oubre).
2019 historical draft.  Pick 12

Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Scottie Pippen, Willis Reed, Mitch Richmond, Sam Jones, Dan Majerle, Bob Cousy, Rasheed Wallace, Shawn Kemp, Marcus Camby

Fun idea.

Smart = Towns, Mudiay, Russell, Okafor, Winslow, Hezonja, S.Johnson ... maybe Prozingis, M.Turner. So 7-9 players.

Young = the names above + WCS, Looney, J.Anderson, Upshaw ... maybe Oubre, Booker, T.Jones. I don't really know enough about the players outside of the lottery. Possibly a few others. So at least 12 players. Probably somewhere between 12-20 players I'd take over James Young. I was never a fan of James Young though. I didn't want him on draft day. I wanted Capela.

This is a hard one given Smart and Young still have plenty of room for growth. Going off value not if I would pull the trigger think the following.

-Smart good trades =Towns or Okafor both very unlikely.
-Smart equal trades /Young great(and unlikely) trades= Porzingis, Mario, Winslow, and WCS.
-Young equal trades= Turner, Booker, Portis, Grant, Frank

Russell and Mudiay aren't really options given they are same positions.

So based on just values might as well just keep Smart and Young. Package picks 16, 28 and player x for a top 10 pick if you really want another young player to build on.

For Smart, I'd definitely do Towns or Okafor.   I don't think I'd trade him for anyone else in this draft.

I'd probably trade James Young for any of the following (likely lottery picks):

Towns, Okafor, Mudiay, Russell, Winslow, Cauley-Stein, Hezonja, Johnson, Porzingis, Kaminsky, Turner, Lyles, Oubre, Portis, Dekker

I'm not trading Smart except for Okafor or Towns.

I'd trade Young for Winslow, Hezonja, or Porzingis(and Okafor or Towns of course). And WTCS

TP. That's where I'm at. Towns and/or Okafor are the only ones who clearly have an opportunity to be better than Smart with higher ceilings. As for Young, I'd take out Kaminsky, Lyles, Portis, and Dekker from your list.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

I don't know enough about most of the prospects in this year's draft, but of the one's I do, I would definitely trade Smart for Justice Winslow. I think Winslow has a very good chance to end up as the best player from this draft. The kid really just seems to have the "it" factor.

You stole my thought .......the only player I swap Smart for in this draft is. ......is Winslow.

Smart is head and heals above any guard his age .  He is a lion , and is just getting started.

I think Winslow will be another game changer from day one .

I would risk Young in on swap designed to allow Danny to grab Upshaw .

Young , Sully and 16 th pick to Miami pick. .....to get WTCS

Towns, Okafor, and maybe Porzingis, but it would have to be after impressing in workouts. That said, Fran Fraschilla said he's 7-2 and combines the ability to defend the rim with 3 pt shooting ability. That's hard to pass up on.

I worry more about his defense actually, or being lost at that end.

this although I'd add Johnson to that list for Young
