I honestly didn't read the OP, so wasn't aware this was focused moving up on draft day.

That said, I think he could form part of a package easily. And I think he'll be easy to move as a salary dump move if the case presents itself that we might need a few extra millions to sign another player who  potentially figures to be part of our plans going forward. I don't think Turner is in our plans beyond this year, except as plan F.

I think Turner gets undervalued around here quite a bit for possibly being our MVP this season. His shooting is great, but he has the ability to create his own shot and his rebounding and playmaking abilities seem to be overlooked. I absolutely think there is a team out there who would love to have him run their 2nd unit and even possibly start (although on a very good team, I think the ball would need to be taken out of his hands some).

With Young, I can see him getting moved in a deal that surprises us Cs fans with how much value we get back. If he truly is seen as on par with a top 10 prospect in this year's draft (as on gm said), then I imagine Danny would take that deal and run.

Smart is probably the most untouchable, but even he'd be available for the right deal.

I disagree with some here who think Sullinger is going to get heavily dangled. Danny doesn't sell low on assets and Sully's weight issues/injury late last year has hurt his trade stock. Now is exactly the time when Danny doesn't move assets. The only reason to move him now is if Danny truly believes Sully has fallen off the program and will come to camp looking like a balloon. Then he has to sell him now because he won't be worth anything later.

But so long as he's not projected to look like a walrus on opening day - and I'm sure Danny is keeping close tabs on Sullinger's progress - moving him now isn't the way to go. Even if he comes into camp this year in similar shape as he came into camp last year, demonstrating that he's recovered from his injury boosts his trade stock. If he comes into camp in better shape then he's worth even more. If he comes into camp in great shape, he may very well be a player worth substantially more or even worth building around.

Hence I think there's a really good chance we see Sully in green to start the year. But of course if some other team values him highly, Danny won't hesitate to pull the trigger.

Agree and disagree.  If we're talking about who will be actively shopped... I think it's fair to say we'll try to hang onto those guys.  If we're talking about who is available... it's literally everyone.

I can't envision a scenario where Boston lands a star via trade and Marcus Smart isn't involved.   He's our only real viable asset.  Any team trading all-stars will have to at the very least get Marcus Smart out of the deal.  He's a B- asset in a sea of C's and D's.  Gotta give something to get something.

Yeah, I was thinking along the lines of who is being actively shopped. I know everyone is available if
a major star is dangled in front of the Celtics.
Honestly I think Sully more than AB. I think the C's saw that the team did pretty well at the years end, when Sully wasn't there. 

Misses context, and you should think the C's saw that a out of rhythm Sully was still our most dependable and best big in the playoffs.

I saw that too, he ramped it up in front of a national audience. And he's very capable of solid play in short stretches of the season. That last game of the series, he really put out.

Unfortunately you don't get 100% out of Sully very much of the time. He's either teasing us with potential, tired and winded, taking a few plays or even games off, or hurt. His body language is generally that of disinterest.
The decision to sign Sully long term has to be a very difficult decision for the Celtics, it may be easier to take a shot at just turning him into a different player with a higher ceiling.

I wonder though if you are building a contender there has to be some good support pieces so C's can't dump all their talent for just one or two guys. Much rather give up picks and cap flexibility to keep a promising player like Smart. Smart is already a solid defender and decent leader.

The team is going nowhere without a star or two.  I like Marcus Smart a lot.  I wouldn't bet money on him turning into a star.   If a star becomes available, Marcus Smart will not be a dealbreaker.

Yeah if it is a top 20 guy then I'd consider giving up Smart.

Here's what I'm hoping: virtually everyone. I don't want Smart going anywhere unless it's for a proven NBA superstar or a Towns-level prospect. I'd also prefer to keep Young, unless he could somehow get us into the top 10, or in the mix for a star. Other than that, I'd be totally fine if we traded all of the following: AB, Turner, KO, and Sully.

The James Young quote really kind of surprised me. He was a late lottery talent last year that we nabbed because of the car accident, and considering the injuries he's had, his total lost-ness on defense and y'know, being 19 plus the fact we we're competing for a playoff spot I can see why his value hasn't dropped much.

After hearing that, I started thinking what your thinking. If Ainge gets the chance to grab a difference maker either in the draft or an established player by trade, I think Young being involved will surprise people with how much value he brings back. Denver at #7 is an interesting situation. Maybe we could trade them Young, 16 and 33 or say the MIN or Dallas pick for #7. If Winslow falls there as some have predicted, that would be worth it. Orlando at 5 is a young rebuilding team with a good core and a desperate need for offense too. Might have to give up a Brooklyn pick for that though.

Young has that rep with a few GMs because he has that much potential. If we trade up with Young just to nab one of those wings (Mario and Johnson), it'll be a side ways move. Those guys are the same level prospect that Young is. It's just not worth it unless we are doing it to pull someone like WCS or a rim protecting big. Winslow is likely the only wing in the lottery worth trading Young for, but he's likely out of reach. Young likely would have been the leading scorer on an undefeated Kentucky team had he stayed. That's how front offices are thinking about it (probably) considering his limited NBA time currently.
