First time i've actually heard him public admit that he will use our assets of picks and young players to package a trade similar to KG/Allen deal, if a star becomes available.

He said the same stuff last year.  And Wyc said last year that there will be explosives or something to that effect.  It's been the same plan since Paul and KG were shipped out.

We definitely seem a lot closer to something happening now though.

So if this was game of thrones, instead of game of options who would Ainge be?   Petyr Baelish?

same stuff, different offseason.  I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for fireworks.  just bored already waiting for the real offseason to begin since the C's were eliminated.  should just cancel the playoffs and get on with the lottery, draft, FA signings and summer league already.  If the C's aren't playing, the games don't matter.

Got to be in the game to get back in the game if you truly want to be IN the game.
Wonder when Danny will be able to hit the links again, if he hasn't already.
Seems like on full standard GM speak mode.
Waiting for that twinkle in his eye to return when he makes his BIG move....

Danny has no choice but to make a few deals this off season, he has too many picks in his hands to sit still and wait. He has 4 picks this year alone. I would be surprised if nothing, or little happened like last year.

But, unfortunately it does take two to tango.

Haha TP!. And, yes, Danny seems to have his hands in everything. Woj would also have to be Varys: the master of basketball whispers!  ;D
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

It helps to have this vision of Ainge watching over other teams post season failings ;D

What would happen if we stand pat this offseason?

say, we draft two BPA's then euro-stash the late picks.
resign Bass, Crowder -- bring back the same starting 5.  no trades, keep Wallace.

if Ainge does that, will the mob turn on him?

That wouldn't be out and out terrible. We'd still have lots of flexibility and could likely make a mid season trade. There are so many FA and trade target guys out there that if we come back with the same team plus picks it means that Danny missed on like 20 or 30 guys. We are likely to get someone, we just don't know it its another KG or another Zeller.
