I just wanna get some other opinions here.  Earlier this year there was the story that Lebron has the option to call his own plays and ignore what's called from the sideline.

Now we have this story where in the last possession of a playoff game, Blatt sits everyone down in the huddle and draws up a play and we hear that Lebron just flat out says Nah we're not gonna do that.

I understand everything worked out and they won and the positives certainly outweigh the negatives of having Lebron on your team, you're pretty much gifted success.  But man, if I'm a coach trying to make a name for myself in the league, it bothers me a little bit when I have a player just completely veto my strategy during a timeout, and then it REALLY bothers me when he brings it up in the media and completely makes me look like a tool.

I understand Lebrons had enough success in the league that he deserves some say and yes to even call his own plays much like John Elway was able to and what not.  But the way this article makes the discussion look, abd the other stuff that came out earlier this year really makes it look like Blatt has no control over anything that's going on

I think Lebron should have kept that to himself.  He would not be bragging about overriding the coach's play if he had missed the shot.

coaching any superstars or all-stars isn't easy, especially if they have a huge ego

Is this really a big deal though?  I mean wouldn't you want your star player and leader to want and demand the ball with 1.5 seconds left in a playoff game.  What Lynch had insisted on the ball at the end of the Superbowl, maybe that game works out differently and the Patriots don't win.  Or maybe Carroll tells Lynch to sit down and run the play he drew up.  Who knows, but Lebron wanting the ball with the game on the line is exactly what you should want and expect from the best player in the game.

The bigger question is, why the hell did Blatt draw up the play with Lebron on the inbound and not receiving the ball?  That is the question people should be asking.

Lue wouldn't have any more control over the Cavs than Blatt.  Also, the hiring was made prior to free agency, when signing Lebron looked like a long shot.

Also everything about the Cav's front office is dumb. This should be common knowledge by now -- they are not a forward thinking organization, they are not particularly interested in ways to play better basketball, and in all honesty Blatt's being wasted there.

This is the team that rehired Mike Brown.

I don't think so.   I was harsh on the guy at the beginning of the season but think he has done a good job given the circumstances (first year coach with a team with HUGE expectations).  Especially post Mozgov/Smith/Shumpert acquisitions.

I don't have any qualms with what happened yesterday.  I don't see anything different between what happened there with what happened with Bird/KC back in the day.

LeBron is a premadona, and Blatt is in a tough spot, Cavs are owned by LeBron and whatever he says is gold. he is responsible for bringing his worthless buddies from the Heat (Jones and Miller) instead of letting the GM bring capable bench players.
Blatt Is a good coach but there’s nothing he can do in the situation he is in. if he put LeBron in his place, LeBron is either gone next year or most likely forces Cavs to get a new coach.

Man I dislike LeBron.

he plays like he's bigger than the game

I wonder if he would have been more humble if he had a coach he respects

If phil jackson was his coach, he would probably listen

I think it's pretty obvious that LeBron calls the shots on offense. They led the league in isolations in the regular season, and lead by a lot in the post-season iirc. All you have to do is watch them play.

The more I look at it, I don't know how Blatt sticks around after this season outside of winning a championship.  It may not be fair, but it's a tough reality.
