In anticipation of the ton of threads being created about you know who scoring a buzzer beater, I just wanted to say while I still have the opportunity: Deal with it, you know who is not walking through that door.

Still, that was a great shot and a thrill to watch it.

Paul Pierce straight through the heart.

If we get a real team here, it's not unthinkable that he'd opt out and come home.  Otto Porter is looking real nice... Hard for the Wiz to keep that kid on the bench.

I know he's not coming back, but among all the teams left in the playoffs, I'm rooting for the Wiz.

I think it's more unlikely that he doesn't come back at some point.

I'd bet retiring as a Celtic would mean a lot to Pierce.  How could he have a more perfect end to his career?

The way Pierce is playing, I could see him in the league for another 4 years.  His defense is still really solid, as long as the shot keeps falling, why not?  If Nash could do it with negative defense, what's stopping Paul?

Porter should probably be starting in a year or two, and I couldn't really see Pierce coming off the bench.

If Boston improves next season and moves over .500 I don't see why he doesn't consider it.  We don't have any definite answers at SF.  I think he'd love to play with hard-nosed players like IT, Bradley, Smart, Sully, Crowder.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

He's a lifelong Celtic regardless; he just happens to be wearing a different uniform right now.

I couldn't be happier than to see Paul hit that shot.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I think I am ready for him to come back next year. Of course I would have liked him all along, but I think we are going to get our center, re-sign Crowder, and make perhaps another move to shore up a position of need. Unless K. Leonard is coming to play for us, there is no reason Pierce can't start and we will have plenty of bench support behind him.

I guess it's possible he would want to stay in Washington, but us with a good center and him would also be competitive.

I was thrilled for Pierce that it went in, but that was a classic Big 3 era iso that resulted in a pretty so-so shot.  The shot just happened to catch the glass right and go in.

Although he had an all-time great post-game interview afterward:
