Bradley and Smart

IMO Bradley and Smart are redundant.  They bring almost the same skills to the table.  I would trade one of them for an off the bench dead eye shooter  (like Eddie House but 6'5 - 6'7).

Who do you trade Smart or Bradley, and who do you trade for?

I know I'm in the minority, but I'd like us to keep both.
We are now in the phase where we have the main pieces in place  and try to add 1-2 stars that will make the difference.
No reason to make major changes.

If you think they are pretty much the same and you feel that you have to trade one of them, you should probably trade the one who will bring back a higher return.

Getting KG & Ray, we dealt about two firsts + six young players. If the C's don't get a KLove type FA for free, they'll have to trade / draft their way up. Then it is eventually smart to deal one, plus at least a pick. Trading 2 dimes for a quarter (or 75 cents for $1) is how you move up in the NBA.

I'd rather trade Bradley, so what could AB + #16 (+ x) fetch in terms of player or pick?  If we could get Sacto's #6 for AB + #16, is it a go? What if #6, or #5, cost AB + #16 + #28 or Sully?

On the flip side, Smart has more value to high picking team - so how much more would you feel you need in return if you were giving up Smart + #16 (+ future 1st) vs AB + #16 (+ future 1st)?

I think these guys are less redundant than they seem because ultimately Bradley is most valuable in his ability to shoot jumpers and cover ballhandlers like Kyrie Irving. Smart, if he comes close to his potential will get most of his offensive by getting into the paint. HIs best defensive value is that he can D up bigger gaurds and even forwards.

James Young is lazy and is by far one of the worst defenders i have ever seen in the nba. If he actually works hard this offseason then i don't think we should deal bradley

I can see AB + Smart or Thomas + Smart.   AB off the bench would make some sense.   I'd be fine with dumping AB for cap space and a draft pick.   I'd be fine with dumping Thomas too, though.  He's a gimmicky player who can be exposed by larger guards.  I can't imagine Thomas ever starting for a contender.  I like him in the micro-microwave role, though.

Yeah, I think the question should really be: Bradley or IT, not Bradley or Smart, as Smart is the only player on our roster with that possible 'it' factor.

If we are going to ship out Thomas, though, we better have another plan in place for a scorer who can create his own shot. He is one of the best in the league at this - I don't think he is nearly as gimmicky as others and do believe he could be a major contributor to a championship team. So he had a crappy game three against Cle - oh well.

If that AB for Utah's #12 is really on the table, we should probably seriously consider it...even though I am a big fan of what AB brings to the table.

I think so too. Not enough offensive creation (shot creation or playmaking). Keeping them both and playing them big minutes puts too much pressure on the other players in the team. It'll be very difficult to get the players in other positions with the right skills and high talent levels to allow Smart & Bradley to stay together long together.

I think one should stay and one should go. Smart is the clear choice to stay for me.
