For as much as Kevin Love has publicly resisted the discussion of free agency this season, it has been on his mind. He has never been completely comfortable in Cleveland, with his role, nor his connection to those around him. Throughout the year, league sources say, one destination grew in possibility as his exit strategy: The Boston Celtics.

Boston has been no sure thing to lure Love, but it had a better shot than most had believed. If Love left the Cavaliers, the Celtics had closed the gap on the Los Angeles Lakers, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Everything is unclear now. Love will get an MRI in Cleveland, and everyone will wait to discover the damage done to his shoulder, the damage done to Boston's free-agent pursuit. All hell broke loose at the Garden on Sunday, and suddenly Kevin Love's future became even murkier.

Unless the crybaby tells Ainge he will come only if Olynyk is gone.

If Ainge wants Love KO and or Sullinger may have to be traded anyways

why would love opt out this year anyways? If he just plays out his contract he will be able to get more money in 2016 free agency than he would this year .

This is just a super-obvious hook for a super-obvious story with no substance required.

I'm sure KO would have been dangled on draft night in an attempt to move up from 16, anyway.  Not to mention Love and KO probably not pairing well on the court together.  I don't think anger towards KO in the immediate aftermath of an injury will keep Love from coming to Boston if Love thinks that's the best place for him to go.  With no disrespect to KO, I doubt his presence here was a major selling point for Love to begin with.

Yep.  Woj doing his Peter Vecsey imitation.

There are three Wojs.  Tabloid Woj, Grudge-holding-attack-dog Woj, and Best-in-the-business Woj.

I could do without the first two.

There's nothing stopping him from signing a 1-year deal for more money than he would otherwise make next year with his option and then hitting free agency again in 2016. (Probably a LeBron inspired deal with a player option for year 2.) I'm quite sure the Celtics, Lakers, and Knicks would all be willing to give him that, as would the Cavs.

He had some epic Lebron-hate articles a few years ago. You have to distinguish which Woj you're reading because his name carries a lot of weight and his word is taken as gospel a lot of times.

The passion of the first two is what allow Woj to be the last one.

Best in the business isn't even that valuable imo.

He basically gets his info from the league/agent sources 5 minutes before everyone else gets the group text.

The idea that the injury hurt Boston's FA chances makes me laugh, I don't think it ridiculous though. People make all sorts of emotional decisions based on factors like that.

I'm pretty sure Boston would happily move Olynyk if it meant they could land Love, no matter how high on Olynyk they are. Though I'm not pleased with that sort of process of letting stars dictate things, they can and do so anyways.

Really? I like best-in-the-business Woj. Because when it comes from him, you know it really happened or was close to happening. None of those pesky "sources" to muddle things up.

I wonder if Love would have said it was bush league if he knew about Perk's play and Smith's play.   If he did, then I do not want him.  If he didn't then I have more respect for him.

I do not think he was ever doing more than teasing us.   Didn't his dad play for LA?   Isn't he from California.   He comes here he would be almost worshiped though but there was a lot stacked against us.
