On Zach Lowe's podcast today, he and Amin Elhassin talked about how Masai Ujiri would blow the team up if they got swept because he thinks the team had reached their potential. I have two questions regarding this.

If the Raptors had a fire sale:
1. Which of their players would you have interest in?
2. If they did tear it down what improvements would the C's need to make in the offseason to seize control of the Atlantic?
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

1. I used to be interested in Ross, but not really anymore. I don't want Lowry or Derozan. Jonas I guess, but he's always been not my taste (has good size/potential still)

2. Improved shooting, better frontcourt player, and more effective penetration form anyone other than Thomas.

I think DeRozan is wildly overrated. He draws free throws like a superstar, except no other part of his game really makes him an all star.

If Toronto tore it down I think we would almost win the Atlantic by default. I have no faith in the Nets getting better especially if they lose Lopez. The Knick who are relying on Melo coming off a big injury, a top pick who might not be immediately ready and very few other NBA level rotation players don't scare me.

What Faf said.

Jonas is the guy that's most intriguing on that roster, because I think he's been held back or not sufficiently developed yet. Most of the rest of the roster is WYSIWYG to me. They are who they are.

I suppose the Brazilians, Caboclo and Nogueira, still have that new car smell to them, but I don't expect much from either of them for quite a while.

Amir Johnson is about to be a free agent, always liked him. I remember when he was cutting his teeth with the Pistons. Now he seems a greybeard.

Lowry & Valanciunas would both be nice additions. Lowry makes 12mil for the next 3 years, thats good value I think. However I guess the pricetag for both of them is going to be higher than what i would be willing to give up I guess.

Valanciunas for sure. 7 foot, 22, improving on both sides of the ball.

Have to think they keep him though.

I'd love to have Jonas, though he's young enough that they'd keep him around.

I think Lowry and Smart could form a pretty terrifying backcourt, and Lowry's contract is manageable given the cap explosion and his production. It'd also possibly help draw another star to the roster. Lowry for Wallace, KO/Sully, and a future pick maybe? A stretch four would work well with Jonas in the middle I think. We'd also be free to shop Bradley, too.

Perhaps we could then convince a Love or Jordan to come here. How far would this roster get in the East?

PG: Lowry, IT
SG: Smart, Bradley
SF: Turner, Crowder
PF: Sully/KO
C: DJ, Zeller

If the Raptors go into fire sale mode, the guys they have on a rookie scale contract beyond this season are Jonas V, Terrence Ross, Lucas Nogeira, and Bruno Caboclo.

For Ross and Valanciunas, it becomes a matter of predicting what sort of contract you can expect them to earn after next season and whether you would rather get whatever you can for them instead of paying them that much money.  You have more time to wait on the other guys.

I'd like Amir or Valanciunas....any shot-blocking defensive presence we can get from them.

Jonas is unlikely, I know, but maybe he could be had...good read, here:

Plus, young center Jonas Valanciunas is due for an extension in the fall, and that negotiation could get complex.

Other thing is that, unfortunately, Masai probably won't help us any, and could request more from us than reasonable based off of his dislike of Paul Pierce. Additionally, he may not be too keen on helping an up-and-coming team like ours - within the division. He is a crafty GM.

I can only hope, though.

He will be a RFA next summer. They'll have plenty of cap to keep him.  The Wizards have done a good job against him in the playoffs, but he's still only a 22 yo, second year guy who will improve.

Well, I just noticed that Lowry slots into the Rondo TPE perfectly.

KO as the native son returning to Canada also fits nicely into a rebuilding narrative for Toronto. Add the #16 pick, and maybe a future pick?

The resulting logjam in the backcourt would need to be addressed.

True. It's likely that they keep him (and Lowry and Demar).

If there's even a small shot at him I'd hope that Danny listens.

I don't think Ujiri will tear it down. He didn't do that with the Nuggets when it looked like they hit their ceiling. He just kept adding talent and trying to move forward. He has also made similar comments in the past with regards to rebuilding that strong suggest this is his believe system in roster building.

So I do not expect a fire sale. I think Toronto will look to add to their group and continue to move forward with their group.

Shop Bradley. He'd really be redundant with Lowry being a more physical, better-shooting, more well-rounded version of him. Lowry and Smart would probably be as good as AB/Smart defensively, while bringing more shooting and scoring.

Well , for the cheap money and the effort , hustle , and team style ball Stevens likes .....Psycho T would fit the present core .

He is kind of guy you hate to see your team have to,play against .  But I,like his tuff ness. .....if he is on our side  ;D
