If we didn't trade for Isaiah we wold probably have a late lottery pick and would have a better chance of trading up, I understand that argument but I just think the playoffs is fun. Life is too short.

Definitely worth it.
We have plenty of draft picks and cap space to build with.
For those of you who are depressed go to youtube and watch the "50 greatest moments of Larry Bird."

I'm having fun, I don't really care how other people feel. It was worth it to me. Of course I would be happier if we win but losing with this effort, doesn't feel bad to me. Pick shmick!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I've tried my best to enjoy this playoff series.  It's been cool to see them fight so hard.  At the same time, I guess I'm just not the type of person to enjoy a doomed effort.  It's kind of sad for me, really, to watch this team try so hard and still fall short as the other team puts forth just enough effort to overcome with pure talent and size.

I don't think its a bad thing this team made the playoffs, but I didn't need to see them get gunned down like this.

Not at all.

I don't think Bradley or Turner are coming out as better players from this. And I've been disappointed by Smart's reduced minutes.

I understand. Hopefully we will see improvement every year. Maybe we win a series next year and slowly become a contender. I feel like there are tons of directions Danny could take this team in the summer so anything is possible, I feel like next year we could be further in he playoffs or even back in the lottery. Danny has lots of options.

I think it has absolutely been worth it.  Every commentator I hear has talked about how the Celtics are an up and coming team and they just need a star.  The way to get a star is from free agency or trades, not the draft.

Free agents are going to see the Celtics as just missing a piece or two, and one of those pieces would be them.  Not only do they get to be competitive in the East, but they get to win as the star and not an also ran.  I have to think that is much more attractive than another lottery bound team who is winning 10 games a year.

Heck yes.  Such a fun team ...

Coach Stevens is now a thing and that will be big moving ahead the next few years.

It's strange for me I watch these games hoping to win but it's almost sad watching them get simply overmatched. Is it ever fun watching your team get swept?

I was hoping that KO would play well enough so that some idiot gm would actually want him, and I was hopeful after game 1.  Now?  Not so much.  Sigh.

They have to say that man. They actually want people.to keep watching. They can't say"oh well, another beat down of the hopelessly overmatched Celtics"...

Datome played more minutes then KO. Seems odd since Datome is probably not on the team next year.

It is nice to see this team be competitive in these games, no doubt about it.  And ultimately, experience is always good, especially for the coach.  Plus, considering you're playing the same team at least 4 times in a row in a playoff series, it really gives us the opportunity to zone in on what this team  is lacking (REBOUNDING/RIM-PROTECTION) and then we go out and try to get it in the summer.

But I gotta be honest...as fun as it is to watch, getting swept in the first round might be worse than JUST missing the playoffs.  It's not like losing in 5 is really that much better...but to get into the playoffs to not even win one game?  I don't know man.  I'd almost rather take the ping pong balls over a 4 game sweep

I'm not sure we're all that "up and coming", yet. I see the Pelicans with AD beating the Warriors tonight and think THAT is up and coming

Indeed.

The Celts are a nice story, but there is no clear future here.
