Which team do you run? You have some money to spend on R. Rondo. What do you offer him? What counter offer do you accept? We will bump this thread in the free agent period, and every participant will give the winner (or closest person to the actual number/team) a TP.

GO!

I think Rondo will get a four year deal worth $40-45 million.

I thought around $10 million sounded fair, too, though I'm not sure about the four year part of the deal on both sides. The team might want to see him get back to some semblance of his old self first before giving him his last big contract, and Rondo might want to build his value back up before taking that kind of a "discount."

Shanxi Zhongyu Brave Dragons

offer Rondo : 309735000.00 Chinese Yuan for 4 years to take over Marbury's spot.

He can also concentrate on his clothing/shoe line.

Sacramento would be perfect. He could teach Cousins the fine art of being a moody malcontent. Cousins is still a novice, learning the craft.

Karl would love that too. His constant coddling of egos will bring a new and truer meaning to the title of head coach.

Rondo might actually be in a decent position to save face with the salary cap increase on the horizon.

He can spin it that he just took a one year deal, so he can cash in '17 when the cap is expected to rise significantly.  Then he just has to pick a team without any real cap space, saying he really wanted to play for Indiana (or whoever) but since they didn't have enough cap room, that's why he settled for that one year, pennies-on-the-dollar contract. It was just the right fit, and he doesn't care about money, and just wants to win, and he'll make it up on the next contract, blah, blah, blah.  Then he just has to play like Celtic Playoff Rondo all year to redeem himself.

Of course we'll all know the real reason, but it could be an easy spin.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Rondo leaves , Celtics play better

Rondo arrives at Dallas and they play worse.  It seems worse than it is because he was suppose to take the team over the top. Plus Carlisle incident, plus game 1 and 2 playoffs (many stating he quit on the team).

So what nba team is going to take a risk and give Rondo even 10 million a season??

George Karl wants a PG like Lawson. I mean to try to make Cousins happy they might bring Rondo in for a season but thats it.

Either Rondo gets a 1 year deal (then we will see) or goes off to China imo.

I'd either offer him MLE money or I'd offer him more with team options. His choice. Maybe some incentives. The only way I offer him a deal like some of the ones here is if I am a team with just nothing to lose whatsoever like maybe....idk...a team a few years away like maybe Denver or a team where we can get a three guard rotation going or a player can be pushed over to the shooting guard spot like maybe Charlotte, or maybe a team with young players that really have a good head on their shoulders that just won't be denied and aren't selfish like maybe Orlando (those two young guards played a ton of minutes). That way if he ruins things....well you were already lotto bound anyway. It's gotta be a tradeable contract.

Zalgiris Kaunus. I'd make a bigger than usual offer.

Provided I thought my team could succeed playing Rondo big minutes and giving him complete control over the offense, I'd offer him a two year deal for 10 million a season.

Let him try and rehab his value and cash in after a couple of years while he's still in his early 30s.  Avoid making too long of an investment.

Well, if I'm Indiana, I probably only have the mle to use, but I'd offer him a 3 year deal at that rate.  Alternatively, the Pacers could try to work some sort of sign and trade with the Mavericks in which they give up George Hill, who makes $10-11 a year, iirc.

I think if you're the Celts you consider offering him the minimum. Just so he has an option. Kind of the JaVale Mcgee thing.
