KO has lost all trade value, while he was hurt there is no way DA can try to package him in any deals..

Smart is starting to shoot the ball better.. He is starting to make difficult shots and last night really impressed me...

Thomas literally reminds me of Rondo but can make free throws... Cant hit a jump shot for his life but can get to the rim and can get to the line... DA finest move

Crowder needs to be resigned.. at the right price but fits perfectly in Stevens system..
Even Bass as well but his minutes need to be restricted and moved to the bench..

I don't see why KOs value would have lowered at all.  He hasn't shown a ton of improvement this season, but he's been a valuable player for this team.

Thomas is actually a pretty good shooter, he just had an off night.  Luckily he can get to,the rim and the free throw line when his shot isn't falling.

I agree about Smart.  He did some things last night that impressed me.  I'm hoping we see more of that on a more consistent basis in the future.

Yeah KO's looked pretty good in the series; he's had stretches of invisibility but has made some really impressive plays.  That mini-drive into a twisting FT line fallaway last night was, dare I say, Dirkesque.  I know the announcers seem impressed, which doesn't mean much, but he's showing promise and isn't shying away from playoff pressure at all.

Smart is starting to "get it" and become more comfortable on offense.  Of all our players I'm happiest that he's getting some playoff reps against a really strong team.

It's funny because watching the game last night I was thinking that next year if we don't make any trades starting Sully (hopefully slimmer) and KO would be the way to go. Not that KO has no value.

The biggest observation I have so far in this series is going forward we need to find a way to consolidate our assets. We have too much depth and not enough star power. If we could trade some of our depth and picks for a potential star then i think we can fill in the depth we have lost and really improve.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I do not think Crowder will be our starting SF for the future.  He is a great glue guy off the bench though.

We need to add talent to the team, particularly someone who can create their own offense.   We need a good big.  This team plays hard but it has a lot of holes to fill before we take the next step forward.

I think other teams will not be tanking so much next year and it will be harder for us to return to the playoffs.   We need guys to develop, hit out draft picks and maybe a good signing for us to maintain the status quo or a trade from DA.

The FT struggles are somewhat alarming, though.

I'd definitely trade a Canadian dollar for four American quarters.

Maybe you are  better scout then me, but I think KO has gotten better as the season has moved along....he seems to increase his value.    IF I were the GM I would not be on the same page as you!   I still see him as a good draft pick with upside.

Im not saying there is no hope and I was really high on him coming into the season but point is he has been down since the injury, which is acceptable. However he plays hot and cold.. Sunday was hot, yesterday was cold. He looked lost out there.. cant defend, cant rebound vs bigs, is slow..  My on;y point is he cant be used to trade this upcoming year if that is what the Celts are looking to do.. No team will say "Oh you have to include KO in the trade"

Andrew Wiggins for Sully, Wallace, Pressey and Turner?

Sure.

First and for most it can only start better with Rondo NOT being around to screw up the coaches plans.  Not putting a damper on rebuilding .

Second ,  theres not a bunch of older veterans to eliminate , but a more stable core to work with.

Nice group of young guys willing ....willing ....to play the RIGHT WAY for their team .

KO and Smart will play this summer to improve themselves, hopefully Sully works on his body.

Hopefully Crowder works on his shooting.  Same for Zeller.

I think the team and coach gain confidence from this season and it continues into next season.

I like the new Rondo less team .   Just need a few upgrades .

I tend to agree I think what the post all-star break run and the playoffs are showing us as fans is that DA and BS have a plan/system that can win basketball games. Like you point out the key moving forward is talent consolidation. I don't necessarily think this has to be a home run trade that lands a super star. This can come from turning the teams depth into more talented set 8-9 man rotation either through trades or player development.

I like the current 3 man back-court and would leave that as it is. As long as IT stays happy on the bench I really think he has found a home. AB gets alot of heat but he is still only 24 is on a good contract and I personally like his fit. Marcus is the X factor as he develops this group will improve. The key for me is his ability to become the primary ball handler when IT is not on the floor. This will diminish the need for a point forward (Turner) and allow the Cs to find more of a shooter/scorer at this position.

The front court is where I see the need to adjustment. The current rotation of 2 SF, 4 PF, and 1 C will need consolidation. As I stated above Turners role is dictated by Smarts development. I would ultimately like to see a player in the with size who can shoot the 3. W Chandler H Barnes or Gallinari (if healthy) would be the kind of guys I had in mind. I really like Crowder as the back up SF. His ability to defend multiple positions and play small ball 4 make for a great bench utility player. At PF Ive said it before but I feel either KO or Sully has to go. The Jerebko and Bass have shown the value of mobility at the 4 and neither have it. My preference is to move sully and eventually use KO as a high minute 3rd big. My current pick for PF would be to trade Sully and the necessary picks for Faried (if available). His offense isn't an ideal fit but he brings energy and elite athleticism to the position. I also like that he is capable of switching onto smaller players as well as using his relentless hustle to get by as a small ball 5 (ala the worm). At center im ok for now with Zeller. I envision a rotation where Faried and KO both play around 32mpg leaving 32mpg to be split between Zeller, small ball 4 (crowder) and any other spot minute bench big.

I think this construction of a team can be achieved while still holding many of the teams assets (picks) and with while holding cap flexibility due to the cap jumping up. This group would be a solid playoff team and an attractive destination for a FA.
