This team is built to welcome any star willing to show up. Any position.

We have zero stars now. All role players, but a crew and system that look promising. None of our players are build-around players, but can fill out around a star very easily.

Honestly, the positional battles when a star shows up will be pretty hot.

I agree with you on that. I just see DMC as the obvious target because we have ZERO inside presence.

Watching this team and it's lack of interior depth in the playoffs is infuriating. We have a bunch of guys who play really hard but if we had Cousins, I honestly feel like this team could beat the Cavs or at least take the them to 7. We need a 5 who can bang, and DMC is the guy...time for everyone to stop claiming he is a "thug" or "headcase" the guy wants to win. I look at him like a Rasheed Wallace, a misunderstood player who would flourish in the right system with the right types of players around him. DMC isn't the only piece we'd need for a banner but he'd be a big piece and would be attractive to FAs. Also a lot would depend on the development of Smart and KO, as well as who we can get to fit in at the 3 permanently. I'd sell the farm for Cousins, he'd put us in the 50 win category and people would actually want to play here.

Couldn't agree more!

Cousins would be the perfect solution to Mozgov in the paint.

Would love to have Cousins!

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Where do I sign up? This would obviously be an amazing move if it goes down.

Unfortunately, I also see Smart going out in any deal for Cousins.

Imagine how much better our fourth quarter lineup where we saw Thomas, Bradley, Turner, Sully and KO would be if we could replace Turner and Sully with two legit stars through trade and free agency.

Pipe dream number one being Cousins and Leonard.

Thomas/Smart
Bradley
Leonard/Crowder
KO
Cousins/Zeller

Is an incredibly balanced young team that fits Stevens system perfectly. If only.

That would be pretty sweet. Three great offensive options, including a penetrator, a 3pt shooter, and a post threat. Three really good defensive players in Bradley, Leonard, and Cousins. Sign me up.

we need more than just Cousins.  we need a real PG and a wing that can create his own shot too.
Yes but trading for DeMarcus makes the likelihood that a free agent of quality that fills one of those needs comes to us.
As opposed to the unlikelihood of the Kings trading him while he's still under contract?

how's his draw for FA's in Sacramento?  don't exactly see him drawing in the big names there nor does he seem capable of pulling a team into the playoffs without some major help

His presence convinced Rudy Gay to sign an extension. Which is as close to a free agent acquisition the team has had since they haven't been under the cap for some time.

Boogie is well respected around the league, the Kings are not. If you put him on another well respected franchise then he will be a draw.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

People are making too much of "Brad Stevens System". IF you get a superstar on your team you change/tweak the offense around that player. GOOD coaches are here to win games. They aren't in the league to create a system. Sure maybe DMC doesn't fit the system BS is running right now, but he's a good enough coach to make changes needed to make Cousins or any superstar successful in Boston.

Brad's system is only valuable because it is thought up by Brad who is very good at this basketball coach thing. If you give him Cousins he will come up with a new system and it will still be Brad's system and it will help us win.

Isaiah is another guy who doesnt fit in "Brad's System" but he showed up and all o a sudden Brad's System involves running a lot of pick and roll

that being said, Cousins isnt coming

Realistic trade- Sullinger and Philly's second in 2015 for Harrison Barnes. GS will match anything for Green this summer, they will need to shed salary. Barnes is stuck as a fourth option , could be a break out player given more oppertunities(40 % from three this year on almost three attempts per game). These are the players aAinge needs to look for, potential stars that just need  oppertunities.

Cousins is misunderstood. He loves to win. He is a competitor.
