The Celtics lost because of:

Mosgov overpowered our bigs - and got away with a couple fouls

The two quick fouls called on Bradley in the 1st quarter

At the beginning of the 3rd quarter, the officials gave about 5-6 FT gifts to the Cavs

At the end of the 3rd quarter, the officials called a couple offensive fouls on the Celts, that were non calls.

That's all it took.

The C's were in the position at the end of the game where we obviously don't have a go-to scorer, we weren't getting fast break opportunities, and our halfcourt wasn't working. When that happens, you go after the weakest defender on the opposing team. If Love is out, go after Kyrie. Obviously I'd rather just have Lebron and not have to worry about this, but this is the position we are in.

In all honesty we could not buy a shot, in the last three minutes and some of the looks were not terrible.   I think we absolutely should attack their poor defenders, but that still does not mean the shots will fall.

We have one guy who create his own show and make them in IT, one guy who can create his own shot and it is a crapshoot, in ET.   The rest of our guys are not great ISO guys.   Neither Bradley or Smart can really create that well off the dribble.   KO and Sully can be nifty but are slow and other guys can react sometimes to their moves.  It is worth a shot, we have nothing to lose but we lack the athletes for ISO ball sometimes, I fear.

BS has a had a solid series, although it is curious why our best player gets only 30 minutes of floor time.

Because that's how Brad S rotates. Everyone gets 30 minutes plus/minus random white noise.

If you think the Celtics played better in Game 2 than Game 1, maybe skipping shootaround was one of the adjustments that led to that improvement.

Did I hear Abby Chin say that Stevens let the team take off the shoot around before the game today?

Smooth move.

The 4th place coach failed to help teach his guys to make the adjustments from game 1 to win game 2.

They couldn't hit the side of a barn in the 2nd half. Good thing Stevens gave the team the shoot around off though. Must be part the famous Stevens program.

God forbid we should win a game vs Cleveland.

And Tyler Zeller..wow!

Anyone see him jog up the court when Lebron (or was it Kyrie?) passed the ball to Love in the fast break?

Embarrassing.

Cleveland must be heartbroken they don't have him anymore.
please let this be sarcastic

Nothing sarcastic about it.

I am not just happy to be in the playoffs. I'd like to see them win.

To bad for you.

Our game was coached extremely well as usual. As most of you said, we lost because we miss clutch players. But in this game, I can't just stop to think that if we would have scored at these open shots we had, we would have won this game or at least led it to the last possession.
Too many missed open shots. Cavs have been offering themselves. They're not gonna win this C'ship.

You think isolation post ups from Bradley/Smart are going to lead to good shots? Why?
Because Irving makes mediocre guards into good ISO players.

Er, no. He's better than that. Neither Bradley or Smart have the handle or the moves at this stage of their careers to drive on Irving on an iso play. Not to mention that the Celtics weren't shooting well enough - the defense could easily cheat off their man to assist Iriving if he had any problem.
That's the biggest issue the odds are the Cav's wouldn't even help Irving, they know that Bradley/Smart aren't frightning players one on one.

Besides Irvings terrible defense isn't on the ball refusal to get into a stance. Instead he just spaces out, dies on screens, or gets lazy on close outs. You have to attack him with team action, like the "terrible weave" or pick and rolls.

This about Stevens is a really dumbest topic I have seen so far.

Does this mean we can start referring to him as WBS, instead of CBS? I actually think it's an improvement.

Agreed. It's like he's coaching a little league squad where everyone should/must get relatively uniform playing time.

Wow I have NO problems with Coach Stevens OR the team right now.

The blowout losses that the "great" ;D Kevin Dsad mentioned haven't happened - and won't.

Looking forward to games in BOS. No matter how this series turns out CLE will be bruised and roughed up.

This^is accurate.

What did some of you think would happen? Did you think a miracle was in the making?
The Celtics are an incomplete, rebuilding team, with holes you could drive truck through. Lets try to be somewhat optimistic through this experience. Wait for the draft and free agency.

Coach Stevens is a great success, regardless of the fact that Boston will lose
both upcoming home games to the Cavs.
Here's to next season. We do not have a roster capable of beating Cleveland.

I am happy we lost because if we win the NBA title we select 30th. This is devastating because at selection 16 we can still hope to package our future roll players like perhaps Marcus Smart, James Young, and Brad Stevens to move up to selection #5 where we  can draft the next Lebron Jordan. The key then is to put him in the D league so we can suck again and then draft the next Magic Jackson, then we have Magic Jackson and Lebron Jordan and we are on our way to the title

If not Im afraid we are doomed to be the Atlanta Hawks or last years 8 seed Warriors.

This is a pretty funny post, but the bolded isn't true - even if there was any chance of winning the title this year we would still pick at 16.  Plus the Warriors were the 6 seed last year.
